During the day, I am really interested in having a lucid dream, but at night I get an irrational fear of having a lucid dream and no longer want to have one.

When I do have a lucid dream (I’ve had about 3) I dream I’m lying in my bed, and realize that I’m dreaming. However, I am so tired and feel so heavy that I can barely move or do anything (I do know for a fact though that I am dreaming and not awake experiencing sleep paralysis)
it realy isnt anything to be afraid off… having a lucid nightmare would be less scary than a regular one… i belive in my head i had neither a LD or LN
Oftopic: santa? santa from maplem? if so im Benny2k.
if not then ok nice to meet u

Why do you have a fear? Can you explain? Lucid dreaming shouldn’t cause fear. If anything, it should get rid of it. You can do anything you want, you can be anyone you want, and you can pretty much count it as a vacation that fills you with relaxation and energy. Perhaps I don’t know what you’re experiencing though.

Many things much like this occur to lucid dreamers. Whether it be waking up instantly, blinking involuntarily, or feeling heavy. The solution to this is both simple and complex, but easy none the less. Many things can be done, which can range from just believing you can wake up, or doing something visually / verbally to make that belief / expectation come to a reality. For instance, you could scream out that your lucidity will increase and you will be able to get up. Or you could try to teleport your body to the sky, which would allow you to either float or start falling, making you eligable to move around. Really, you’ll just have to play around and see what is more effective. Whatever you end up doing, realize that this annoying distraction to lucid dreaming is not permanent.
Let me know if any of that didn’t make sense or if it just didn’t plain work!
I don’t know why I would be afraid (it’s irrational like I said). Maybe because I don’t know enough about it?
I’ll try the suggestions you posted. Thanks.
(To the other poster: sorry, I don’t know who you are)
haha nothing to apologice for man
I think the fear is prob just the fear of the unknown coupled with the lethargy you have felt in your LDs so far.
If you just read some of the fun LDs posted here it should help.
mmm instead of trying to move in your next LD if it is similar… you could change the environment instead (even in small ways ie making objects move etc) and have fun that way and gradually realise you have real power.
I was scared too for a little while. I just kept telling myself in meditation that I had nothing to fear, It’s a part of me how could I be afraid of a part of me? I trick myself:)
