what if we sleep for about 3 hours, then we have an alarm going off, and we hit snooze every time it goes off, so that eventually in these strange semi-sleeping states we will have lucidity ?
i know i had an OBE when my friend did this very obnoxiously, setting an alarm for at least a full hour before he intended to get up, and hitting snooze every 15 minutes, after about 4 of them i floated out the top of my head into dream land.
so what if we do this ? get about 3 hours of sleep, then spend 2 hours working with a WBTB approach ? would it work? followed by regular sleeping.
Lucidology has thought of that: in order to get more OBE’s, you could just get familiar with the transition state from wake to sleep, and there’s a precise method to train that fast. Their timer can be customized depending on how fast you fall asleep, and is built to bring you into a state of semi-trance by the 2 long pauses, and that would be the time for LD’s. Then a series of short interval alarm follows, that is said to induce OBE’s instead (body more awake).
The key is effectively trying to sleep during the whole process, the timer must do all the work.
yes, but they want you to do it in the early morning right ?
it takes strong will power but MY sleeping goes like this :
i sleep in one or two positions for an hour or so, not having any dreams,
and somewhere REM comes up and sneaks upon me without me noticing it, no OBE, no SP,
sometimes lucidity, sometimes not,
now if i get up and do any sort of WBTB routine before the first REM comes, I should be able to go into an OBE immediately ,
I’t’s always better when REM stages are longer and closer to the time you fall asleep, but it’s possible to try anytime, and succeed, if with a little more effort, but i guess you knew that already
And you can always try several times later ;D
Man, you don’t even know how much that helped me get my sleep time to near zero
It’s a clear exageration but i get to sleep much faster than before: let’s say, 10 mins tops, 5 in best cases. Start face up, arms over head, let mind wander, relax, arms down, deep breaths, relax some more, go on one side, continue wandering until asleep. Works like a charm
(I also follow a much longer ritual before sleep, that involves darkness, meditation, and bananas, but that’s another story )
