I posted some questions the other day and tried out some of the suggested techniques last night.
What i did was count my breathing in my head as i was going to sleep, and each time i said a number i would picture myself taking a step on a path. This technique kept me awake and more conscious.
When i felt myself losing concentration i tried the “mental scream” technique and this really weird thing happened to my eyes each time. The only way i can describe it is that my eyes sort of moved back, and i was no longer looking at my eyelids but observing them instead. I know that sounds weird.
Eventually i think i got some HI. I saw this 3D jack-in-the-box type head rotating in front of me, and it turned into a shape that was spinning and changing. I don’t really remember much after that. I feel like i never got the chance to ‘pull myself in’ to a dream. This morning i remembered parts of a dream i had, but no lucidity. Should i keep this technique up or change it? Thanks.
well, i think you should try it, if you hat some HI, you shouldn’t try to pull yourself in until you’ve had at least some vibrations(well, i’ve nefer had that but…) and if you remember flashes of the dream, try to remember more and write it down, it’s good for when you become lucid you will remember the dreams:D
In stead of counting try to imagine yourself floating down. As you fall let go of all of your thinking until you are just focused on the falling. You can also imagine yourself walking down stairs as well.
ec91199, generally you don’t have a LD when you try to WILD for the first time. And about the “mental scream” method, I’ve had quite the same effect than you.
I have the same thing- but i find it quite easy to concentrate my eyes in the centre of my head without the mental screaming and get much the same effect you mentioned. As i become less concious, this response is automatic and i often get the OBE/ WILD vibrations in just a few minutes.
It also helps a lot to just relax- sometimes i end up trying too hard and being too comcious. This can also keep you awake at night!
Sometimes, simply relaxing and letting the mind wander a little can produce dream scenes and hence LD’s…
