A little help please!

:help: Been trying to LD for about 1 1/2 years now. I do many reality checks daily. Ive tried WILD and MILD. I dont really have the ability to WBTB. I started a DJ about a month ago, and recently started eating foods like watermelon(for B6), honeydew melon (for B6) and Tuna (for Triptophan(?)). I also take one B12 a day. Now, here is my problem, or rather problems.

  1. During dreams I am incapable of realizing something that I am doing is impossible IRL. For example IRL I am a mediocre guitar player, but in a dream I was a virtuoso. Or, in another dream I was on a date with Sara Underwood, later turning into some hijinx shall we say . When I wake up from any of these dreams I feel like an idiot realizing they werent real.
  2. 3/5 nights I have no dreams, (I realize that people dream nightly but I dont get it, what should I do to remedy this?)
  3. During the day I think about dreaming all the time, but when I wake up in the morning I have very little motivation to write things down, and as I stated before, my dreams can get graphic ( in extreme violence and in extreme sexual content) if my little sister finds and reads my DJ it may scar her for life, and if my mom finds it she will never look at me the same way again. This keeps me from writing stuff like that down in great detail, which I know is what you should do to improve DR.
Anyway I am sorry if this topic is hard to read ( it is only my second) but I would appreciate some feedback from people who used to be in similar circumstances. :help:

I can’t be much help for #1 (I’m still working on that myself  ).

As for #2, it’s my understanding that everyone dreams every night, you just might not remember them when you wake up. That’s where a DJ comes in handy as it helps with recall. Which brings us to #3. I have the same problem (not wanting to write out some of the more explicit aspects of my dreams in fear that someone will read it). Maybe you could write in code. Either literally use a cipher or use euphemisms. It might sound silly when you write it out but at least it will keep anyone from figuring out what you mean.

 Wow ya! Thats a good idea.I cant believe I never thought of that code thing. Thanks, although keep me up-to-date on that #1 problem, its a big one for me!

One thing you can do that really helps is to be as descriptive as possible and consistent as possible with your dream journal. Keep your journal in a place that your family members won’t find it if you’re scared of that. But it’s important to be honest with yourself. It’ll mean a lot more to you that way. In terms of LD’ing, it’s probably good to be able to remember about 1 dream a night before you actually start trying to induce lucid dreams. Dream recall is very important.

Hope that helps. Good luck, DocHolliday.

 Thats my problem ive been trying to induce LDs without learning to remember NDs. Thank you guys!

I have the same issues as #1. During the dream everything flows so much that I don’t really realize that certain things are impossible!

But as for your general lack of success, it may all come down to number 3. You dont want your family to find out about your more explicit dreams in your dream journal. Perhaps that is making you subconsciously block out your dreams?

I know that doubts and issues IRL effect our dreaming and sleeping habits. Maybe it’s doing the same for you

Yep, I say DJ is the answer! What I do is use simple codes for explicit stuff. For example, if there’s a sex scene I simply write (S) I don’t really go into detail there though… you can create a whole code if you want, if you have many long dreams you don’t want people to read… Even so, all the rest you should write down, with as much detail as possible. Trying to LD without DR is pretty hard, you might even get lucid and not remember it!

As for #1 don’t even think about that… EVERYONE has the same problem  We are unconscious, thus we don’t think and can’t realize something is impossible. That’s the whole idea of lucidity, getting conscious enough in a dream to actually realize it’s a dream.
