a really weird nights sleep..

ok, i just had a really strange night, here, and i thought i should get an oppinion on it, as well as find out what exactly it’s called. this aint an ld, but it falls close.

so heres the deal: about 2 hours ago, i reckoned it was time to get to bed. 4 am seemed like a nice time to get some sleep, anyways. so i hit the sack, thinking about lucidity, cause i was convinced that either this night or the next, id have one. so i fall asleep, and after less than 2 hours, im awake again. it’s 6 am here as i am writing this. what was strange though, was how i woke up. i had a dream before i woke up, like i always have, about something like a job or something. i cant really remember, nor is it relevant. so my subconcious is pumping out a dream for me, like a good brain-activity, and while this is happening, i realize that im awake! literally wide awake! so im lying in bed, and i am totally aware of every part of my body, etc etc, and i am still dreaming. if i open my eyes just a little, i can see a bit of light shining through, and i can even stop fokusing on the dream entirely, while it’s still going. i can even move my body as im dreaming, which i do, cause i turn my head right before i realize what’s going on. i can refokus on the dream, and still follow what’s going on, but not control it. i just stay there for a minute or so, thinking about how weird it is, and going back and forth on my fokus, between the dream and how weird this is. and all the while i know that i can just stop dreaming, and wake up entirely. so after a minute or so, i decide that this is too weird, and that i am already awake, so i roll my head around, crack my eyes wide open, and kill the dream(sorry). then i turn on my comp and start writing this.

so what do you guys think? is there even a name for what i just went through? and what could this be interpreted as?

i take it no one knows a damn about this stuff? or is it so unique that it is unheard of to date?

the latter would be preffered, but somehow i guess the former is more accurate…

wow. that is cool. what technique are you using?

You were lucid since lucid means clarity or that you know that you’re dreaming like you did. If you can’t control it that doesn’t mean that you aren’t lucid but that you’re having low awareness then that’s why you can’t control it but still a LD.

That experience sort of happened to me, not exactly but similar. That i was laying in my bed “watching” the dream with one eye and with the other seeing my mom in my bedroom calling me to go to school.

woo!

draws out the samurai sword and scratches another notch

and that makes 4 ld’s on my belt. thats the best news i had all day.

technique? i havent used a technique for probably 6 months. they never worked for me…

It happens to me too, but my mind was not so clear, and it didn’t last so long. It’s rather strange, it’s more like you’re aware you’re sleeping than dreaming.
On the other hand, I realized (just after waking up IRL) that what I could see when I opened my eyes just a little (in the dream) was not the true background of my room. So, I was dreaming that I was sleeping.
I don’t know how to name such a LD. It’s not a false awakening, rather a “false sleeping” !
