About DILD lucidity (consciousness) level

When I was about 8 years old, I had a spontaneous LD (or AP), in which I was completely lucid, i.e., I was as conscious as I am now (maybe more), could remember every detail, could feel my “body”, well, it was as though I was in the dream. And upon waking up I remembered everything. I think you got the idea.

Now, I’m 21 and only recently learned about LD. I began trying LDs since the past year and I have had about 15 dreams in which I recognized that I was dreaming, I could do whatever I wanted, BUT, when I wake up, I still remember it as it was a normal dream, only that I can remember a little more details. Nothing very close to my childhood experience.

My question is, are all DILDs like this? What do I have to do if want to experience full consciousness, like I did when I was a kid ?

PS. I do stimulate the senses when I recognize I’m dreaming, i.e., observe some object carefully, touch things, etc.

Its possible that it was an AP. That would explain it…
If you can share some details about that experience I may be able to help…
Its possible that it was a very intense lucid dream, it happens more when we are little.
Cheers

I remember that, besides being conscious, it was at my home. It started near my bed, where I was sleeping, and I had a feeling that I was dreaming. I remember I briefly opened my physical eyes and noticed I was still in bed. Then I closed my eyes and was back in the dream. I wandered around the house, noticed that it was a good replica of my house, except that the living room’s rack was different (and maybe other details I don’t remember). After moving, I began wondering whether I wasn’t sleepwalking (moving physically) so I once again opened my eyes to check (and was still in bed, naturally). I closed my eyes again but a little later I woke up, and it never happened again.

So, you’re saying that in AP you are generally more conscious than in a DILD? And how about a WILD?

Edit: actually, I don’t remember if I first opened my eyes to check if I was sleepwalking and then returned to the dream, or if I first wandered around my astral/dream house and then checked if I was sleepwalking.

Sleepwalking does not occur in the REM state, that means, you CAN’T sleepwalk while having a dream.

Yes, now I know, that’s when I was an uninitiated 8 years old child

It sounds like an AP/OBE
you can not compare DILD and WILD to AP.
in LDs you are far less aware, only in AP/OBE you feel just like conscious life, every sort of dream has some kind of degree from the vague dreamworld thing in it.
Some dreams can be very vivid and real but they cant feel as waking life.

So it’s impossible, or very hard, to remember a LD, be it DILD or WILD, with every detail, as though you had lived it an hour ago in waking life?

Nothing is impossible…
I remember most of my LDs almost as if I lived them an hour ago…
Itll come with time.
But when LDing you can not have the level of consciousness you have when OBE/AP ing.
You can not feel actually exactly like you are awake, which is how you feel when OBE/AP ing…
That is impossible.
You can however turn a dream into an Astral Projection or an OBE.
There are a couple of methods to do so.

I see. Thanks for all your advice!

I’ve done some research on converting LD to OBE. I’m posting what I found, for convenience. (I’ve found these on a post by relV at astralpulse forums )
