about wild - newbie

people i read already dozens of topics and i am tired , sorry for opening a new topic.

when i got to sleep i try to do wild, i feel fully relaxed and half asleep after about 15 min i think , once i felt something like shaking , strong shaking but them it stopped.

the main problem is that i am getting tired of trying and going to sleep in the normal way.

help plz ! i need something to keep me awake thinking of something or counting isnt helping i am just giving up in the end.

ahh and i never reached to the paralayzed state.
and i am sleeping about 7 hours .

thanks !!!

i think that if you really find it that hard then look for another technique i’ve tried WILD about three times never really got the hang of it.
To try to stay focused try listening to your own breathing/heartbeat or mabye a clock to help you.

thanks, but i tried it already
how much time does it take to LD via the wild technique ?

I also read that practice makes perfect , so how should i practice it ? just lying in my bed and trying not to fall asleep ?

anyway i am going to try it again tonight …

i would be really happy to get more advises !!!

Apparently WILD takes a long time to master…

I tried it for 3 months with no success.

WILD can take a long time to master, it depends on you, and a few things that you need to learn.
The first thing to consider is the sleep cycle. When you first go to bed at night, your body and mind want and need some deep sleep. Normally you go into a deep sleep phase that lasts about 60 to 80 mins. depending on how tired you are. During this deep sleep phase it is difficult to imposable for most people to dream. It is also much harder to remember any dreams that you have during this sleep phase. That means for beginners, it is much easier to start learning WILD with WBTB, or naps. Then you can go from awake to REM sleep without much trouble, and your chances of remembering your dream is much better.
Note, even if you have a successful WILD when you first go to bed at night, if you sleep through the whole night, then you will probably not remember it. You tend to remember the last dream you had before you wake up.
The second thing to consider is how fast you go back to sleep when you do WBTB, or how fast you go to sleep when you take a nap. Here you have to be able to maintain a balance between keeping your mind awake, and letting your body go to sleep. This can be very hard, and if it takes you hours to fall back to sleep, then WILD can be very difficult.
That balance is the next big thing. It is different for each dreamer. Some people have no problem with it, others just can’t seem to find a way to keep it. This is what most of the WILD techs try to do. Counting is a simple one. By counting you are keeping your mind awake. It works for some people, not for others. Whatever tech you use, You need to be aware that you are trying to keep this balance. If you find that your body can’t go to sleep, then you need to do something to reduce your awareness. Relax more, turn the music down, count slower, etc. If you are falling asleep without entering a dream, then you need to increase your awareness. You have to keep up the balance long enough for you to get into a dream, i.e. your body goes to sleep, but your mind is still awake.
The last thing is entering the dream. Lots of things also go wrong here. You have to learn how you can enter the dream. This means that you have to try different ways to enter the dream. Some people can “step” into the HI, others can reach out and grab something in the HI. Lots of others have to ignore the HI. If they try to do anything with the HI, they wake up. Lots of people can “leave their body” when they get SP. Some roll out of it, some float up or down out of it. At least one person on the list crawls out of it on all fours. Other people never get SP while they are awake enough to feel it. I and some other people here on the forum just have to wait. At some point I have a short blackout, then I am in a dream and I know it.
The point is that in order to WILD, you have to learn several different things about yourself. It only works when everything works.
don

What ever tech i try i end up doing WILD…
the thought about lucid dreaming that is in my mind keeps me awake so i just fall to WILD 3 minutes after whatever i try… but the problem is that after HS and HI i am to excited about the whole thing so i remain too awake… :sigh:

and also i am always wondering if i reached th SP because it would be like a sign that i am doing it right so then i try to move and i can so that wakes me up… any sugestions guys?? :help:

intresting , i know a lot about myself and almost everything needed to LD. the part of the balance is new to me so i will try it today, thanks !

btw i am newbie myself so i cant really give any advises

Do you WILD at the start of sleep or do you used it with WBTB? because i think it alot easier with WBTB, also i don’t watch the HI like most do, i keep my brain active by doing things with my imagination, when it works i find that i normally meld with what i was thinking, but its 100 times more clearer and it excists. The good thing about using your imagination is that you don’t have to wait for it to appear and it also keeps your mind off your body while its shutting down for sleep.

the one draw back is that on occation i slip in to a dream and not notice it then drift of to sleep hehe.

either way practice is the key.

actually, last night I woke up at about half three in the morning after a dream.

A; why did this happen ( I know it might have been external causes though)

and

B; why the hell didn’t I try WILD?! I’m such an idiot! (note: I don’t actually expect you to answer this)

Have you guys got a way to wake yourself up without alarms or anything?

I could have done WILD so easily! I fell asleep within a couple of minutes! Damn it!

tell me about it , i woke up few times the last night and forgot about wild …

I didn’t even write my dream in my journal…

I thought about it though, but I decided not to for some reason.

may haev been an FA i have them where i think i woke up in the middle of the night last night and got back too sleep.

oh my god!

I had two chances to get lucid and I blew them away! Crap!

(I apologise for my language)

I remember i had 1 cool FA , i woke up and my mother came and checked me and told me that i am sick and i can contiue sleeping then 1 minute later i hear my mom " WAKE UP !!!" and then i relize that it was a dream and i was so bumped down !!! had to go to school !!!

anyway i am going to try tonight wild , unfurtunly i dont have enough time to prefrom a wbtb, i cant use alarm clock it will wake up my parents …

Your FA made me laugh.

We should develop a technique to wake the dreamer up after a dream that can be used in conjunction with all major induction techniques!

It would be great for WBTB.

I woke up after a dream last night (4th Feb) without an alarm or anything. It was like, automatic.

We should do this!

when i have an exisiting and very vivid dream i automaticly wake up after it .

Try autosuggestion when you goto bed. It works for many people.
