advice to those who fail

i can see that many of you are succesfull in having ld…
i’ve been trying this for quite some time but absolutely nothing…either i’m doing something wrong or this practice is not so easy to perform as many of you have said…

of course i am a bit dissapointed with my performance and i don’t know what to do…

some while back i’ve heard mentioned that karmapa which is the head of kagyu lineage of tibetan buddhism said that once we menage controling our dreams we will experience increased power in our daily activity and miracles will start happening…

now , i’m wondering if anybody knows what’s that suppose to mean…

if the information from above is accurate it means somehow that many of those who write here and are succesfull in ld can weave their dream power aquired from ld into their daily activities…i’ve heard that that happens automatically anyway after a lot of ld practice…

 hello hayagriva, welcome to LD4all :welcome:

Just like any other ability, some people will find it easier than others. But it is possible to LD even when it doesn’t come easily to you. (if I can manage to LD occasionally [I always miss the most obivious dream signs etc] anyone can do it  )
Once you know about lucid dreams, it is bound to happen sooner or later. So just persevere and know it’s as easy as you think it is :boogie:
One good side effect of them being rarer in my case is that I never forget a LD and everyone is treasured

A more frequent LDer will have to answer your second question

 I hope you experience your first LD soon

I won’t be able to answer your second question either . Although, while I’m not sure if miracles will start happening, I do know that many obstacles in RL become easier to overcome. Some people are able to “fix” personal issues (ie: shy) and others use LDs to practice for upcoming events to ensure their success. Personally, I have found that LDing allows me “play” with my character in RL. I find it easier to notice and tweak any issues that I may have with my personality (hopefully to become a better person in the end.)

besides, even if LDs don’t do much for you in RL, they’re still bloody cool and make for excellent conversation starters

As for advice… I say stay confident. It will not happen if you don’t think it will. Other than that just keep trying! don’t give up, it’s worth it in the end! and try WBTB , it does wonders.

EDIT: And welcome to the of forums hayagriva :peek:

There is no limit to what you can do once you learn to dream lucidly, as you can use this skill to heal yourself, take vacations every night to the far ends of the earth for free, practice skills that will help you in your daily life, have an incredible sex life that far exceeds anything you’ve ever experienced in the physical, etc. The list of things you can do in a lucid dream is limited only by your imagination and your ability to control your dream once you become lucid. It is definitely worth the effort though, even if it takes a few years to learn.

Meanwhile, a person needs a way to remain positive while they are learning to lucid dream.

The best way I’ve found to remain postive while learning to dream lucidly is to keep track of the things that I do well and mark my progress in these things, whether it be keeping my mind under control during the day, remembering to do reality checks, being as aware as possible of things going on around me, remembering dreams, doing concentration exercises, each day I mark my progress in these areas so that I can see the progress I am making, and remain positive until the next lucid dream occurs.

By keeping track of the things I can control and make progress in each day, I am building a firm foundation which I am hoping will eventually result in more frequent lucid dreams. Meanwhile I am improving myself in the physical by doing the things anyway, so even if it does not result in more frequent lucid dreams it would still be worth the effort I am making.

I’ve been working at lucid dreaming for about two months and have only had one lucid dream, it felt very weird and before I could try something the dream ended. I’m still working at it though. I wish you good luck on your lucid dreaming. And welcome.
