Considering I partially think the reason I wasn’t lucid in my last night’s dream was because it was very realistic (Even given a fair share of DSs…Right hand drive on a US truck, gates appearing where there aren’t any, year old sketches being sold for a ton of cash, seeing a sticker that said “only works in lucid dreams” and remarking on how convineant it was I was in a dream), I wanted to ask, do you more experienced LDrs ever become afraid that you aren’t dreaming? I’ve read a couple times of people having second guesses about jumping out of windows, but that’s about it.
Also, is using MILD as opposed to WILD a good way to avoid this? Usually I don’t dream in my room (FAs I suppose you might consider them), but using WILD do you ever enter your dream in the same place you fell asleep?
Personally I can’t imagine being as sure as i’ve seen some people be as far as jumping out of windows or off buildings, or attacking people; at least until I can use powers to confirm it as a dream.
Funny that you mention it. I had a LD last night, it felt so real that even after that I made sure I was dreaming (doing a couple of RC’s) I still thought that I was gonna die when I jumped out of a window. I could feel the speed just like IRL and the wind to my face, I was sure I was dreaming when I jumped out, but in the middle of the fall I started to panic because it felt way too real. Then I started to flap my arms and it all turned out ok
Sometimes I get very realistic LD’s like that. RC’s don’t work very well for me but as long as I can fly, I know I can do anything I want because I’m dreaming. I can’t really rely on other things though. I’ve considered the possibility that what if I hallucinate this in waking life? This is one of the reasons I fly so much in dreams. I’m schizophrenic and I really don’t want to confuse real life with being a dream. There are times when it has certainly felt like one.
WILD isn’t making you ending up in your room all the time. In none of my WILD’s (5 ) I experienced it. Doing RC after WILD is one of ways to get LD when you are in your dream bedroom. Buf if you enter HI’s chance of dreaming about your bedroom is quite small. Once I dreamt I was in my room. I noticed that one thing was not in place I put it. I got lucid, and despite of fact that everything was realistic I was sure that I’m dreaming.
But I recall that I got throught like that - “What if I’m not dreaming ?” I panicked at first. But then I realized that I was flying few minutes ago, so it must be a dream.
Yes the is one of the things that i am nervous of happening as well…
Also, has anyone ever done the oppositte? like, going up to someone and telling them you are dreaming even though it turned out it was real life? sorry if that seems stupid or ignorant or anything… but im new to the topic and still need to get thingds straight hehe
It happens, but usually goes away quite quickly.
Normally its not really the fear that something might happen to me in my dream, but that i could be sleepwalking (never did that so its absolutly irrational) and might do stupid things if i do stuff in my dreams
But i can convince me that its an irrational fear quite easily.
For me it was part of going into an LD for a long time.
I always ended up dreaming about my room in Holland or in England. Once, I actually dreamed of both, fused together.
i have a question regarding this about fild. i was reading the tutorial and it said that your reality will carry over into your dream. your supposed to do the reality check and if it works you get out of your bed. has anyone had experienced cause i dont want to start like walking downstairs and my parents wake me up
