Alarm Clock

SInce I seem prone to go right back to sleep after I’ve turned off the alarm, I now installed an alarm clock on my laptop.
Since I seem prone to turning that off without repeating it for the next sleep cycle, I found one that automatically repeats.
Since I seem prone not to hear the alarm, I set it to play music when time’s up.
Since I seem prone not to hear the music, I set it to raise the volume to maximum, so that I’m sure to be wide awake.
Since I seem prone to forget my dreams when I am so abruptly awakened, I ask you what else I can do.

Yeah, I’ve had problems with this for years. I never seem able to write down my dreams when I waken, either because wake too suddenly, or otherwise because I fall asleep at once.

I’m now quite awake when I wake to the first note of King Kastchei’s Infernal Dance, but I have to get up at once to turn it off.

Don’t use alarms at all.Use auto-suggestions.Repeat:’’ I will wake up at xx!’’.
It always works for me.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I do use autosuggestion to remember my dreams, but it never occurred to use it to wake up. I’ll try that. I always go to sleep at a totally different hour, however, but I hope that’s not a problem my internal clock can’t handle.

I’ve just had the idea of making a sound file of my own, playing only the first, powerful note of King Kastchei’s Infernal Dance and then twenty seconds of silence, followed by the same note and another twenty seconds of silence and so on, so that I have twenty seconds to relax to calmly focus on the dream, and the note then reminds me not to let my mind wander. I’ll see if it works tonight.
