I was trying to get a LD about a week ago. I nearly got to it. My mind was fully awake, and I almost couldn’t move my body, but I couldn’t start dreaming somehow. Isn’t this called Sleep Paralisys?
I tried to move myself, hoping to see my hand being freaky, but I moved my real body (I had to try real hard). I should have known that it wouldn’t start a lucid dream!
lol wow. yeah. i got sick of waiting too and so I gave up using the techniques which force you to lay still. it sucks. it’s annoying. I can never fall asleep fast. After two hours, literally, I just feel like I gotta move into a more sleepful position. That or I by mistake move a muscle and then I just wasted 2 freaking hours of trying to fall asleep. After one night I just said “Screw this, if I am going to lucid dream, it’s going to come naturally.”
and i do get lucid dreams once in a while without keeping a dream journal, but that’s because I’m lazy. I really want to get back into practicing LD methods.
That’s why i am never going to regulary using WILD: Your brain forces you to move, and those time sacrificed to having a ld goes f… You know what i mean. That’s why MILD and autosugestion will always be on my 1th place.
If you almost couldn’t move your body, than it wasn’t SP. In SP state you really can’t move your body, even if you try like crazy. What you experienced was probably a deep relaxation state; it’s not that you couldn’t move your body, you just didn’t want to. That’s commonly mistaken as SP, but that’s just deep relaxation.
Maybe it’s just that you’re not suited for WILD, but it won’t completely break my WILD if I move just a muscle as you said. It’s just a matter of concentration, and, of course, not all the techs are suited for everyone ^^
