ALMOST successfull MILD qattempt

This morning, when I woke up 8 in the morning. I had 6 hours of sleep, so I gave MILD a good try. I found a good way to fight the distracting thoughts: find their source.
If I thought of a specific computer game I followed my thought up to that:
LD’s are fun => games are fun => PC games => specific PC game.
This (backwards) process helped me because I truly thought why I wanted LD and so on. I tried to MILD very hard.

So I woke up to FA right away, and I looked to my watch on my hand (that was really on the table). Arrows were crazy, did finger counting RC (fingers were deforming in my eyes). I rubbed my hands and thought: I will jump trough the window. But I had some doubts and wanted to reassure, that’s when I lost my lucidity and had another FA. The second FA was much more vivid and I talked then with my brother about the first FA not knowing that he was my imagination, and after that I really woke up. Did some revenge RC’s because I was very disappointed for not realizing the second FA.

I know I shouldn’t be so hard on myself. Next time…

Hey, those are all really good signs. You managed to keep your mind active and you obviously got some kind of intention through. What are you saying in your mantras, by the way?

Mantras:
Next time I sleep I will realize I’m dreaming.
When I will dream I will realize that.

I’m Lithuanian, sometimes I think in English, but since it’s not my native language I still have dreams in Lithuanian language . I picked mantra that is short, but I tried to focus more on the reason of having a LD and so on. It worked quite well, but the best thing is that I know How it works. I think

Next time you wake up early in the morning, you could try WILD, because you will direcly go to REM. If you do it right, it will be almost guaranteed LD. In my opinion, mantras should be done when WILD’ing isn’t possible, that is - in the evening, before going to heavy sleep. Good luck on your future LDs . BTW I’m also Lithuanian

Didn’t want to make a new topic for this one question which is MILD related.

Do you find it important when you get awake for WBTB?
The almost successful MILD I had was when I woke up, recalled 2 dreams, and then did MILD, and recalled the FA.
Now I get up after a single dream (at least only one that I recall), and then after failing MIDL recall 2 other dreams.

Should I stay consistent or experiment? So far both gives almost same results.

again with the 3 Lithuanians

another good way of ‘erasing’ your thoughts is to stare at the blackness. i often catch myself staring to the point where the third eye is supposed to be located.
by the way, about the mantras… it’s a funny thing but for some reason i always found it more natural to say them in English rather than Lithuanian  don’t know why. maybe cause when i think about dreams, i am mostly here, and so all my dream stuff is usually ‘thought out’ in English. i think it’s quite funny.

also you should try WILD during a nap, possibly. i have tried it with WBTB but it didn’t work many, many times. i am at a different consciousness level at night than at day, i think. i’m just saying that for some people this doesn’t work. but it may still work for you!

definitely carry on with the experiment! MILD can’t hurt  but… when i do MILD, i don’t even use a mantra. the thing is… it’s not in the words, it’s in the intention. the thing that has helped me the most was trying to achieve SD’s. you know that for a SD you need a LD first. so, i was trying to get SDs, and so my mind assumed that i can already LD… usually when i have a firm decision to visit someone in my dream, LDs just come themselves. so it’s mainly not in the words… you just need to make a mental note, a strong intention.

also, don’t get disappointed that you didn’t succeed. that is the worst thing, i struggled a lot with this. it’s not the techniques that give you LDs. it’s only and only your strong confidence and you (you can ask Rhewin  he will agree)

and last but not least… sėkmės!
