Am I close? Please tell me what this means!

I lie down, and begin focusing on my mind, the third eye, and relax it. Then I tense my muscles while inhaling and relax them while exhaling until my joints are nice and relaxed. Then I start really focusing on my third eye until I can concentrate on nothing more than this tunnel in my mind that seems to captivate me, and it’s like my thoughts are running through it at 100 miles an hour. All this time I am able to open my eyes and abort the process, or at least I feel like I can. I was doing this last night and halfway through deep thought I got that horrible feeling that I was falling and I woke up abruptly. This creeped me out, because I woke up from nothing; I felt perfectly capable of opening my eyes at any moment in time before it happened out of nowhere. Everything was normal, I did an RC and tried to go back to sleep which I wound up doing eventually but did not dream at all.
Am I doing anything? Is my mind just playing tricks?
Am I at least somewhat close? I really want to do this.

you can have that effect in wild but your not falling so after you get over that feeling you will be able to go into your dream its amazing i know you can do it

ps. you did dream you just cant remeber what about

Thanks for your insight, im sure i’ll make it with practice. Can’t wait! Another thing I experienced today after I tried that again was that I still felt awake and all that other stuff but instead of falling my cellphone rang, and I heard it two seconds in reality before I woke up although when I awoke I screamed as though awakening from a nightmare. I guess its all sort of connected. Anyways, i’m going to try it again tonight.

That sounds a bit like a myclonic jerk. There is a sensation of sinking through the mattress or being pulled out of your body associated with WILD but a myclonic jerk is something slightly different. As far as I understand it, it is a biological reaction in your body. Which results in a falling sensation and waking up with a group of muscles contacting.

I’m not sure about waking up screaming from your mobile phone ringing, I’ve never had that happen to me.

I get those tunnel things too:but I have to press my eyelids against my eyes to do it. What did you do? I believe that those tunnels are HI but I can’t focus on them when release my hands…

There is a difference between HI and the effect you get by pressing your hands onto your eyes. HI comes without pressure on your eyes. I don’t think applying pressure in this way is a good idea as I believe you can damage your eyes doing it, I also seriously doubt it will help you to lucid dream.

Well I get the tunnel from concentrating. If I focus really hard, Ibegin to lose the feeling of my entire body, usually starting with my hands. After awhile I just feel asleep. When my eyes are closed I can apply this strange pressure to my brain which sends this pulse over my body, helping me to relax and change state of mind.
