last night I had a dream where I told a friend about lucid dreaming, but I didn’t become lucid. Is this nothing, or does it mean I’m getting closer to having my first LD?
also, I told a different friend in real life about lucid dreaming. He said he had a dream where he was typing on the computer, and noticed the text was different each time he read it, but he didn’t have an LD either. He had another dream in which something made him realize he was dreaming, but then he had a false awakening to a normal dream. Is he getting close as well?
Thats defintely a start that you had a dream about LDing. Have you tried any methods to become lucid like MILD or WILD? Also, do you do reality checks when you are awake?
As sephiroth said, that’s a for-sure sign that you’re getting closer. You’re friend might be getting close as well, seeing as he even did realize he was dreaming at one point.
And once again-- as sephiroth said before me:
If you aren’t already, you should practice some techniques to get you lucid, MILD really helped me get started, and now I use WBTB with WILD. You should also practice doing reality checks often-- even if you don’t end up doing one to get you lucid in a dream, doing RC’s helps remind you to think of dreaming.
–Hope it helps.
yes, I do MILD, and do as many RCs as I can remember to do during the day
I just thought of another question,
Does it matter how many hours of sleep you get?
I’m getting about 6 1/2 - 7 hours.
Definately! I remember when I was first starting of as a novice in lucid dreaming. Before my first experience I continuously had dreams where I was talking about it to my friends and family. The next phase is when you begin having dreams of flying, or dreams that you’re lucid dreaming (which aren’t quite the same as full fledged lucid dreams). It’s confusing, I know, but you’ll understand when you have one. Good luck!
