Another attempt. This time im going to LD

If been reading this forum for 2 years now.
Tried many times to LD, but never really did it
This is my third serious attempt, and this time I’m going to LD!

My goal is to get LD’s before 7 april 2005. A month.
My first goal is getting my dream recall back.
I’ve also started meditating twice a day (after breakfast and before going to sleep) for a couple a weeks now.

I’ll be posting my progress in my online DJ

My first real problem:
How do you make your dreams more vivid? How do you become more aware of them? Is it by becoming more aware in your waking life (lucid living)?

i know if i keep a DJ i’ll get a better recall, but it doesn’t really make my dreams more vivid!

Wish me luck! And maybe you have some usefull tips / inspiring things for me?

thanks for reading, Isaac

Hi Isaac,

I think you’re on the right track, setting this goal and working on dream recall with a DJ. The problem of non-vivid dreams is a hard one. Sometimes dreams just seem to be vivid, at other times not (at least to me), it just comes and goes all by itself it seems. There are some aids you can use to increase vividness, lately I’ve been having extremely good results with nicotine for example (im not a smoker so the effects perhaps have different effects for people who are). There are also herbs like Calea that can do this extremely well. Other then these and some other aids, i’m not sure if there are any techniques you could do to increase vividness. Perhaps some other people can tell you more, but anyway good luck on your quest for lucidity. I hope you get a vivid LD soon!

I have some ideas for making dreams more vivid:

Watch a film that inspires you a lot before sleeping and perhaps it will influence your dreams.

Try to be aware of all your senses - sight, touch, sound, smell, taste.

Yes, Describe/think about your surroundings in as much detail as possible both in RL and in your DJ

You sound determined to make it work  That’s really good.

I noticed vividness is also related to my recall: The dream on it self was actually quite vivid, but i had trouble keeping it all in mind and writing it down…

I am trying to be aware of my surroundings. Last 2 days were hard because I slept shorter as usual and i was a bit tired.

Maybe I should not be aware of my surroundings in general, but focus all day a lot on details, if i’ll do this in dreams, they should become more vivid.

Dream recall is back now, although is can be better (it always can be better, unless i remember all my dreams!)
