During the start of this year I found this site and began doing reality checks and WBTB + MILD or just a nap with MILD.
I had my first LD experience within 2 months.
Now i’ve started back up again and I just can’t seem to get myself to do RC’s while dreaming, I never remember to. I do them everytime I remember to while i’m awake but i just never do them in my dreams.
Also I was wondering before going to sleep for MILD your supposed to repeat a saying, how long should I do that? 10 min or till I feel myself drifting off?
We’re both in the same boat my friend
I recently started trying to Lucid dream again after about a year of taking a break from it. Now it seems like I have to start all the way back at the beginning.
What I recommend is to re-evaluate what you did the first try and see if you can cut some corners and improve your technique a little bit.
As for MILD, I never succeed if I keep going at it as long as I can before going to sleep. Just affirming to recognize when I’m dreaming a few times is the best for me. As for RCs, just keep at 'em, eventually you’ll do them in your dreams
That’s not so important. I noticed that practising RC’s IRL could lead you to have unexpected lucidity in dreams, even if you don’t perform RC’s in them.
That’s not so important neither. You can repeat it 20, 50, 100 times or until you fall asleep. In the Methode Coue (autosuggestion), the advice is given to repeat a sentence 20 times.
Dont do it when you go to sleep, do it after you wake up from the WBTB (but perhaps thats what you meant). Also, dont only repeat your saying. First of all, while doing MILD, also visualise yourself a few times becomming lucid in one of your previous ND’s. Second, try to alternate your sayings so you stay mentally focussed more on what it really means (as opposed to mindlessly repeating). Do this untill you get the feeling that your subconscious really got the point (somehow I know when it’s enough when I do MILD), or for no longer then 10 - 15 minutes. Then just go to sleep as usual. If you can keep the thought of becomming lucid in your mind as you drift of, thats good, but not nececarry.
