So, feels like im having a “lucid meltdown”. From being a pretty regular lucid dreamer. ( I have always had lucid dreams from time to time trough my life. ) I have now entered a stage where both my dream recall and awareness has hit rock bottom. I have a hard time to recall my dreams when I wake up in the mornings and im unsuccesful with my WBTB attempts etc. I guess it could be a side effect from slacking a bit with recording dreams in my journal. Neither have I been sleeping on regular times. Fun thing is that when I have been sleeping at my GF’s place during the weekends, I have had like a 70% chance to lucid dream. Anyhow, just wanted to share this and see if anyone had some thoughts about it, ill keep trying, guess there are ups and downs in lucid dreaming too. ^^ G’night
Just record your dreams more often in your DJ and your recall should go back to normal, along with your awareness. Sometimes it helps to concentrate on remembering your dreams or sometimes you’ll get reminded of a dream by something you see while you’re awake. So it’s a good idea to keep a small DJ with you if you remember a dream and when you’re not home.
Try not to get frustrated!! I know it’s easy to say… But I think frustration itself can have negative effects. My last dryspell ended (I think) after I tried not worrying to much about it. While I was crying around “oh, I haven’t had a LD in X days… oh, what a dryspell…” I was just focussing on NOT having LD’s and that’s what kept happening
Just trust it will come back
I always have higher chances of LDing when i’m at other people’s houses. i’m not sure why that is…
And as far as your failed WBTBs and whatnot, remember that the technique is not what’s failing you. You’re failing yourself. Try to trust yourself and know that you can do it. It sounds to me like you’re not using your techniques, rather, your techniques are using you. Use techs as a TOOL to gain lucidity. Don’t rely on them fully. they’re only there to AID you in lucidity not to garuntee it. believe in yourself and use the techniques to give you that extra push. Don’t put all of your trust in the techniques. that’s not what they’re made for.
Thanks for the replies, sounds like you are all right. Guess I have been worrying to much about it and that migt have resulted in less ld’s. Last night I tried one of those lucid dreaming induction mp3’s. And this morning I could recall more of my dreams, and I also know that I had a ld, but I can only remember little of it. So I will work some more on my dream recall with my fingers crossed. ^^
