Not sure if this is the proper place to post this. Ive been taking vitamen b-6 for around 3 weeks. Iwont say the amount because i dont want to put anyone at risk! but i can say that i have noticed a huge increase in vividness of my dreams!!! just a headsup!
if I’m not mistaken there’s a B6 topic around here somewhere I’ve been on some medication and some vitamins that include B6 since a few months before I started LD’ing, so I have no idea. I just hope once I’m off them my dreams stay nice and vivid
and don’t go taking too much! I’m not actually sure how much is too much, but I know there is such a thing and that it can damage your nerves or something…
Thanks for lookin out! i only take about 400 - 500 miligrams a day 1 morning 2 lunch 2 right before bed. I heard of a guy takin 1,000 miligrams and i thought that a bit much. but still only 4-500 is making them extremely vivd. Any tips for a beggining lder?
Just something I found:
Not sure how trustworthy it is… I only take 30mg twice a day I should ask my docto for more
hmm, let me see Experiment as much as possible, see what techniques give you better results. Keep a DJ and do RC’s with attention. Keeping a DJ here on ld4all has really helped me keep motivated. People here are really nice and love to help, so stick around and ask any questions you have!
One important thing is trying not to get too frustrated when you don’t get lucid. It’s perfectly normal and we all fail. You’ll slowly get better and better. Try to always see the good side of every single dream you have, as much as possible. This morning, for example, I did a RC and failed.
I’m a bit frustrated, but I’m trying hard to focus on the fact that I remembered to do a RC in the first place!
Hope I could help.
Thanks for the b-6 info…i will def. look more into it. I can always use constructive criticism! On the advice for me as a newby. thank you so much. i keep a DJ and i try as hard as i can to remember to do reality checks as much as i can in waking life but i always seem to close my day thinking “why does it seem like i dint RC enough!?” i have yet to do an RC ion a dream…im so ready just for that…even if i dont get lucid its still a huge step for me. Thanks for the positive encouragement!
Well, if you do start receiving nerve damage from B-6, you can reverse the damage by stopping the supplement, since it is water soluble. The nerve damage is temporary.
Whats with the bumping?
Anyway, does anyone know what a ‘safe’ but generous level of b6 is? I know the excerpt quoted above said below 300mg but that sounds like an awful lot? Are people here prepared to say how much they take or what seems to work for them? Also maybe choline as i’ve just noticed that my vitamin b supplements have some choline in it too and thats supposed to be helpful for aiding lucidity too.
Being, as the quote said, a water soluble vitamin, B6 is safe when taken in moderation. The LD50 (median lethal dose) for mice is 5500 mg taken orally. Considering that, it is probable that 1000 mg wouldn’t cause harm if taken on occasion. I personally wouldn’t use it in excesses of 1000 mg multiple times a day because of the risk of neuropathy. I use only a 100 mg vitamin and that seems to be enough to increase the vividness of my dreams.
EDIT: 100 mg = 5000% daily value based on 2000 calorie diet
I hope that helps. You should consult your doctor before changing your diet.
