Do our bad habits from waking life follow us into our dreams? I’m a smoker and don’t recall ever having smoked a cigarette in a dream, but has anyone else? How about something like fingernail biting? I wonder if I had a LD (I’ve only had one low-level LD so far) and tried doing something like smoking, how it would be…at least it wouldn’t be harmful! I did used to take painkillers and if I didn’t have any I might dream about trying to find some but that’s about it (haven’t dreamt about pills since I stopped taking them). I’ve been smoking for at least 12 years straight and I don’t recall ever once smoking a cigarette in a ND and my boyfriend says the same goes for him. Any thoughts or ideas?
No ideas here, but i can confirm similar thing.Im a smoker for about 10 yrs and many times wondered why i have never had one dream when i smoke.
Been thinking about it but never really came up with anything.
Hah. I read that yesterday a bit before I went to bed, then last night, I had my first (that I can remember) dream smoke:
I was in Paris, going to use some money I had to get my hair cut. I decided I didn’t really need a haircut after all, so spent the money of a pack of Dunhills. Then I was walking up the driveway of a house I used to live in and lit one up… it tasted like a mix of chocolate and coffee.
The only bad habit that carries over from waking life to my dreams is not questioning whether I’m dreaming or awake enough
If only real cigarettes tasted like that!
And to Josh Redstone, I couldn’t agree more!
Ditto.
