Hi! My name is Alisha, and I just joined this website I’ve been having some trouble with lucid dreaming
I can usually recall about one dream a night, sometimes only bits and pieces
I’ve only ever had one lucid dream, and it was very short. It was done with using the reality check where you look at your hand. I had six fingers xD Anyway, that was months ago, and I can’t seem to have another one. I’m going to buy a dream journal today, as I don’t have one already. What are the best methods for beginners? Which one should I use? Do you think it’s possible that I can have a lucid dream tonight? Or is that not possible? Thanks for taking the time to read and reply to this
Recalling 1 dream a night is good for a starting LDer. After a week or so of recording your dreams, your dream recall will become better and soon you will remember a lot more details about your dreams!
For a beginner, I would say to use MILD, because, although it’s not as reliable as other techniques, you don’t have any chance of going into sleep paralysis. You could use the WBTB technique where you wake up 4 or so hours after going to sleep, stay awake for half an hour, then go to sleep again, hopefully entering an LD.
These techniques take some time to master, so I don’t think you will have an LD tonight, but it is possible! Make sure you RC all throughout the day, a couple of times an hour, to have a bigger chance of RCing in a dream, therefore making you lucid. This way of LDing is probably the safest way, but it will take time to form a habit of RCing all the time. Still, once you have that habit established, it will mean you can LD quite a lot
When you are more confident, I suggest moving onto WILD, which is a common technique that is reliable for making you have LDs, but if you don’t do it correctly, you can end up in SP.
Happy dreaming!
