Well we’ve got the greatest video games of all time topic, so what about real games, in the real world? Anyone likes playing those and which do you like best?
My favourites are Munchkin (play this!) and Citadels. Also a honorable mention to Settlers of Catan
I am not generally fond of board games or card games, but I really like Uno in the middle of the night when your head isn’t working as it should be or when you’re together with over 9,000 people and trying to find a way to spend time together. I know it is pretty simplistic and easy and luck-based, but it’s fun!
As for card games, Skat (if anyone even knows it? It’s a German game really). But also a simple Uno can be fun, as proposed already.
Hm board games… I’d definitely go for Go, the ancient Chinese board game. If you haven’t heard of it before, you should really give it a try
And don’t forget the game that best represents our society, what we are, what we truly desire and let’s our deepest capitalistic wishes surface: Monopoly!
There are quite a few other good ones, but I guess those are what I played most
You’re right, monopoly defenitely deserves a mention.
One I haven’t played yet because they were only sold in limited numbers and I’ve been too lazy to make my own board: the game ‘Thud!’ based on the book by Terry Pratchett. It’s a game comparable to chess I guess, based on the traditional Norse Nifltafl games.
Magic the Gathering, Monopoly, Finans (a swedish game similar to Monopoly), Ticket to Ride, Carcassone, Cluedo (Clue) Skitgubbe (a swedish card game ) and of course Settlers
One of my favourite board game is “Méditerranée”. It’s a strategy game, mixing war and trade in the Mediterranean Sea. But I don’t know if this game exists in English or in any other language than French … Maybe you can tell me … here’s a picture of the box and the board : jeuxstrategie.free.fr/Mediterran … tation.php
