body pains (in my dream)?:S

Hey everyone, Ive been reading from this site for awhile and managed to have some lucid dreams. But its strange, about half the time i realize im lucid, i feel some abnormal pains ie: abdominal pains, legs, neck, shoulder, crotch

This pain always gets so unbearable and it forces me to wake up. But when im conscious, there is no pain at all and i was not sleeping in an uncomfortable position that may had caused any discomfort.
Does anyone else have this problem? Like for example, last night, i remember feeling numb like i was out in the freezing cold for one moment, then i saw myself floating/hovering around my room, (strangely, i did not see my body when i looked at where my bed was) As I was about to open my window and jump out, my right leg felt like it was being scalded by hot water and i woke up all sweating, breathing heavily but no pain or discomfort…
Whats up with that? I thought our dreams dont stimulate pain? Is there a method, or technique to solve this problem?

try to relax and think about stuff like your habits, tasty food or other stuff that you like.

Oh you can feel pain in dreams, however there doesn’t seem to be any reason for the pain you feel. Unless you can figure it out that is.

I’v felt cold in an early lucid dream, on my back… THere was no logical reason in the dream, I tried to wake up because i figured it was from the real world. Although that doesn’t make sense either bacause ut was summer. However I found that my dream shirt was on strangely and i fixed it and back back stopped feeling cold. Perhaps if you find a reason for the pain you can fix it in the dream and it’ll pass. If it is indeed a sensation brought on by nothing special then it should fix it.

i think you may have some repressed feelings towards lucid dreaming that are only becoming evident when you are actually lucid.

Try and ride past the unbearable, see what happens after that, you may be rewarded quite well

yah im gonna give that a try thx. Its just feels difficult because im still new to this whole concept and i get a lucid dream on average maybe 1-2 times a week and half those times when i know i am dreaming while sleeping, i feel some serious pain that makes me believe my physical body is in danger and that forces me to wake up.

Im curious timelss, what exactly do you mean by i have repressed feelings towards lucidity? I mean, i am putting in the motivation and effort to succeed in lucidy. I even have a dictophone by my bed so i can speak into the instrument the moment i wake up, so i dont forget. Are u referring to maybe something like old childhood memories? Or nightmares which makes my mind afraid to let go? plz let me know, this is helpful

well possibly as a child or a few nightmears. But i was refering to ideas that other people have put in your head like…

lucidity takes effort and is hard
lucidity cna take over your life dont do it!
its against your religion!
if you lucid dream you will die!

you know crap like that. Its like a virus, people keep pumping you with the stuff and even if you dont belive it, deep inside there are still parts of you that are being affected by it.

Just to clear what i wrote up there, lucidy is not hard, its acutally quite easy, it will not take over your life it should enchance your life, dreaming is against no religion nor is controling them, or at lesat it shouldnt be, people have been doing this for longer then you would care to imagine and if you lucid dream you will not die! otherwise none of us would be here! unless we are all dead already in which case it doesnt even matter.

i think deep inside you already know the answer to what is causing these pains inside your lucid dreams, remmeber that it is your mind creating it and you are in control of your mind, at lest to some degree, so sit down by your self in a quite area, dim the lights and meditate if you can or relax if you cant and just think about lucid dreaming, and the pains. Try and feel where the pain is comming from and why you get it, if you cant figure it out dont worry, instead as you sit there and think, imagine having a lucid dream.

You go lucid, you relise its a dream and you are happy, and just when you think the pain is going to come, it doesnt, instead you realise it isnt going to happen anymore and you fly out the window or walk through the wall etc etc. Make up as many different fun lucid dreams in your mind as you can, really feel them, and rememebr that in each one you create you will not exerience any pain.

Pain is a way of telling your body that something is wrong and should not be ignored, but the body at time, can create fake pain. Like pain rememberence, think about an x lover and your heart will hurt" think about last time you broke a bone or ali-ped and hurt your self and a slight tingel will emerge at lesat in your mind “remembering” the expereince, naturally we block theses memories from occouring again in full otherwise we would never be able to funciton.

But pain can also be experience with a surge of emotion, or another way of putting it a surge of emotion can be linked in your mind as if painful.

The first time you went lucid, there is a chance that you were extremnly happy and overwhelmed with emotion. so much to a level that you are not farmiliar with, and because of htis your bran didnt understand how to interp it right, so instead of feeling what you should of it short wired it self and make u feel something that you have already expereinced at that level. Pain.

Its been a learned reaciton, so that every time you lucid dream you also feel pain, because you have taught your self to without knowing it.

So the best way to work throug this is to just keep imagining over and over again sences about lucid dreaming that last forever with out any pain. Really beleive this and the next time you do go lucid, hopefully, your mind will play out the thought stream that you have been re teaching it. The non thought stream.

I could go into classical conditioning and operate conditioning but i think you understand the gist.

Anyway that is just my oppipion i could be totaly wrong. jsut the first thing that came to mind so i thought i would mention it.

how do you feel about what i have written?

Yah, that makes sense. Thx. It is difficult to stay lucid expecially if ur feeling some real discomfort but next time, im gonna try to either suppress it or find out the source to it by meditation.

I also read from another topic that this guy used to always have an itch and was able to move the itch around. I wanna try that too next time. Just move my pain away,

Its just when im at this state, it really gets uncomfortable and that breaks my concentration/relaxation which forces me to wake up. Not on purpose too, but by accident and then i have to start all over again without guarantee of success because at this point, i would be dead tired and just sleep with normal dreams.

Maybe if i experiemented with sleeping medication so my mind is trying to wake up but my body is imobilize and it disables me from waking out of my dream world, do you think that would work?

a lot of sleep meds depress your mind and reduce the amount of rem, till later in the hours when you get rem rebouund, if u do try these just be aware of that, i have to go to uni, but will write more tomorow good luck
