The Better Off Lucid Dreaming Method. (BOLD)
[Untested]

Welcome, I think I may have developed a new LD’ing method, that many veteran LD’ers use without even noticing. Basically, you are trying to convince your SC that Lucid Dreaming is better than Normal Dreaming. (Though for this method I would actually prefer the terms Conscious Dreaming and Unconscious Dreaming.)

After getting many LD’s a month, you don’t have to try hard to get a LD anymore. I think it may be that your SC notices that Lucid Dreams are much better than Normal dreams. You then have LD’s almost effortlessly.

I think all you have to do is make your SC believe that LD’s are better than ND’s.

So what do you think of this?

Sounds likely. But how would someone who hasn´t EVER gotten an LD do this?

Convince their SC. Simple! Just like any other person.

I think this can work. Perhaps, for those who haven’t had much success like me, we just have to convince ourselves it is better, by ways like looking at the advantages of lucid dreams, and maybe even implementing MILD into it, and repeating that as a mantra.

Good question, but, actually, I’ve had my first LD with no training whatsoever. Infact, that night I was trying to have an OBE! I mean sure, I’ve hear of LD before though, but never attempted to have one. That night I had a lucid dream.

I was walking through a white building. I think it was a kind of hospital or something. I was walking with my grandma. We went to the front desk. As she was talking, I got REALLY lucky. I randomly said, “Oh wait, I’m dreaming!” At that exact time, it seemed as if everything just kind of rushed in. I can’t describe how it looked when it rushed, except for, that when I ‘rushed’ in, it seemed like I had periphreal vision (Because I don’t have these in dreams for some reason, and I don’'t know why.) That fuzzy black border around my dream was finally filled. I remember saying to myself, “OK, I better not get to excited, or I’ll slip back into a dream.” So I turned my head and walked around, which seemed like only seconds, before I lost my lucidity. I made myself lucid again but don’t recall ANYTHING I did. I just remember the rushing feeling happening again.

I guess it was just pure luck that I had those two LDs… Anyways, I’m now interested in LDs and OBEs alike, so I am now joining this community in hopes of obtaining the skills to become lucid AND to have an OBE. I believe it will be way easier to just have an OBE through an LD.

Some notes on that night: I was laying on my back. (There is a topic somehwere that discusses the positions and what effects it has on you.) The building I was in was really familiar. I think it was my school, but painted pure white. Still not sure. When I rushed into my dream, the outer edges got real blurry, I guess because of motion blur. If you have questions, just PM me and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. Thanks! - jUnKi3

It could work, but in some different way than you think: our SC wants us to LD by the start (or at least, mine does, and is very happy whenever I LD), the problem stays in the conscious, who is often too distracted to notice the signals our SC is giving us, telling it’s a dream (called dreamsigns, for the most part).
With this tech, however, one can remove the feeling our SC doesn’t want us to LD, and be more confident and ready to realize it’s a dream.
In short, the only one to convince that LD’s are better than ND’s is you, and you also have to believe the decision to become lucid is entirely up to you.
