I’d like to share an experience I recently had in a lucid dream.
20 November 2006
The brain freeze.
My dream begins with a cave engulfed in flames. I end up walking in the cave and it reminds me of some sort of underground science lab. Suddenly the flames go out. I run into the cave and look down at the ground. I feel the cold floor and it is cracked, almost dried mud. Suddenly I hear a voice, most likely mine, say “hey, this is a dream.” Almost as soon as I realized it, the dream goes from a bit fuzzy to very vivid colors and crispness. I begin floating and I feel the lucidy begin to drift away. I hear a voice say “no, calm, lucid.” The lucidy returns. I begin to look around while I’m floating there. Then everything freezes, like when a computer screen freezes. I open my eyes and I’m awake, to make sure I hold my nose. I ask myself, did my brain crash?
Now I would like to ask you all that question: Can your brain fail/freeze in the dream state? Is it dangerous?
To the best of my knowledge your brain can’t freeze or anything of that sort unless it is a severe mental problem…I certainly don’t think there would be any correlation between a mental problem and the dream state
Dangerous- No, I haven’t heard any accounts of dreams being dangerous, fearful yes, dangerous no. As a final note, regular dreaming isn’t considered dangerous so why would the knowledge that you’re dreaming have any effect?
A first - im sure it was NOT a brain freeze. I dont think that anything like that exists. You dont have to be even a bit afraid of it.
Hm, some people haves recurring nightmare after some kind of shock. They returns every night, and they are unbeliveable scary for person that experienced it, because it bases on real happening. That might lead to sleep lack, propably some mind sickness.
Haha, hopefully it is a linux os. I was just wondering if there could have been any reasons as to why my brain would ‘freeze.’ I just found it extreemly odd that once I finally reached lucidity that it froze. Cruel twist of fate huh?
By your description its not that yur brain froze but rather your dream behaved as if you had a comoputer crash…perhaps their is a correlation between the freezing of your dream and the use of computers.
lol maybe your subconscious is telling you to take a break from computer, or telling you there is something wrong with your computer(it keeps crashing)that you haven’t noticed
