Hi,
excuse the titel, I really don’t know another Titel wich express the subject. If you know one, tell me, I will change it.
Well, there’s a question wich came to my mind, don’t know why.
I asked myself, wether you could do some things with pleasure, wich you detest in your waking life.
An extrem example: in your LD you kill a person with pleasure.
Is that possible, that you are some kind of another person in your LD’s? Or do you have in a LD full control over your mind like in waking life?
Thanks
Greets
It depends. The only question is - why would you like to do in a dream what you hate in real life? It will be hard to achieve, unless you want to like it. Again, it won’t be very easy on normal everyday stuff. You can prevent yourself from throwing up everytime you see blood.
About the title:Can you Like in a dream what you don’t like IRL?
You have never wished to kill anyone irl?
Kay, sometimes, you wish you could kill someone, but you’d never do this, of course.
But I mean, If you have a LD, are you there the same person like in your waking life? I don’t mean that you can play some roles. I mean, wether you could have a total change of your mind in a dream, that you really feel pleasure by killing someone. Killing People was just an example. If you want, you can imagine something worse…
I don’t have such LD’s, I have no LD’s at all (unfortunately)
It was just a question, don’t know why I’m asking myself such things
I’ll tell you this much: I had two dreams about knifefighting, not something I ordinarily do. In one dream, I was scared witless, knowing my opponent was so much stronger and I would be cut to ribbons. In another, more recent, dream, I was up against a whole squad of well-armed soldiers with only a little knife to do the job, Metal-Gear-Solid-style. I tell you true, I enjoyed every second of it and it felt a bit like graceful dancing as I slashed one guy after the other, never once taking a hit myself.
They were both NDs, but the point is, dream experience depends on the context and your own mood. The former dream was scary and gloomy like a horror film. The latter was like MGS. You can’t compare the scaredy little child I was in the former to John Rambo that I was in the latter.
As for LDs, my limited experience tells me it’s all in the mind. If I chop off my own arm and it feels like a pleasant massage because that’s what I made the dream do, obviously the senses are manipulated. Or a more palpable example, if I fly out the window in a LD, I know it’s safe, if it happens in RL, I know I’m as good as dead. Big difference in experience.
