Ive disscovred alot of uses for lucid dreaming with my cellphone. Ive been having alot of dreams about my phone, so Ive decided to use it as a reality check. before I go to bed I set my timer to wake me up in 3 hours, and the alarm isnt too loud. I do a reality check, and write my dream down. Its convinent, because I use my phone light to see what im writing, or I could just go to voice recording, and record it. Allso Its good just to check the time as a RC. I just wish I could find a dream ringtone that says is this a dream? Does anyone know where I could get one? Try it out, there are all kinds of uses with a cellphone.
Indeed, I agree. I stopped using wrist clocks years ago ever since I got a cell phone. And it is my one and only alarm. Too bad I can’t put any kind of ring tone in mine, but it must work as reality check. I never thought of using it that way, but you are right, it almost an one in all. But have never ever dreamt about any kind of phone at all. And for the ringtone, if your phone isn’t very old like mine, you can transfer something from the computer. Right now I’ve just puted 5 lucid dream induction mp3’s in my music player, and I am going to test them now.
Cool idea.
I’ll try it out… as soon as I find my phone.
Seriously! That thing has DISAPPEARED.
In your recording options where you record your dreams, you can make a recording of yourself asking that question and then move the file that you just saved, into your ring tone folder and then whala, you have a ring tone for asking you when your dreaming, now you can change your ring tone, to that one and so when it goes off your phone will ask you if your dreaming. I hope I’m making sense with what I’m saying, yeah I just noticed that one too!! Cause my phone is like an organizer to me. And then it dawned on me that i can use it to remind me to do a reality check.
Oh wow, that’s a good idea to try when I’m at home over the weekend. Right now I’m at my Aunts and my jukebox is dead, my charger is at home, so when I’m at home, I’ll try that too. Sounds like a cool idea. Yeah, I don’t wear watches anymore either, and the cool thing about Cell phones is not having to change the time, your cell phone changes time automatically when we fall back and spring forward etc.
can someone kinda explain what you mean by using your cell as a reality check? i understand the termonology, but I don’t quite get what you’re doing. are you waking up in 3 hrs and looking @ your phone to see if it’s weird?
I imagine, if you’re awake, you see your phone. If you’re still asleep/dreaming, god knows what you see so what does the cell phone have to do with it? :wonder:
You have an alarm clock on your cell phone, you can set it to go off at anytime, do one of the reality checks from the LaBerge book, or one of the checks you made up, then after that you set your timer to go off again. Yeah, you can also use your cell phone to wake you up in the middle of the night and record your dreams too. It’s just basically a reminder to ask yourself if your dreaming or not. (has a hard time remembering to ask myself so I use my cell phone to remind me.)
when sleeping and knowing that an alarm is about to go off many FAs occur in anticipation
let it be for all that is good
i usually wake up and get up and turn my alarm off because i don’t want it disturbing me when i try this method however… there is a solid advantage
if one sets the alarm on snooze after 4-5 hours of sleeping and keeps hitting snooze for a period of an hour or more, lightly dozing in between interruptions, it produces a very light state of mind where LDing is easy
if one wishes then to get up at a time that they are conditioned to find ghastly if they set the alarm 2 hours before that time and keep hitting snooze over and over and over again they will finally be awake and willing to get up by the time their actual get up time is established due to the interruptions
it must also be noted to the noteworthy that when the alarm is absent, refused to be set
and the individual initiates the intention to wake up at a specific time without alarm clock, they will succeed in doing it
this must be checked with the individuals own knowledge to assess whether or not he believes fully that he is capable due to variances in the nature of people’s wills
i never set an alarm ever and always got up on time because we wake up frequently throughout the night and any one of those wake up times allows the person to say “hmm what time is it?” and get up and see
some describe themselves as deep sleepers wherein this is impossible
i would be curious to understand this as i do not agree with them and think they would be able to sleep without alarm if their will was stronger but we have strayed into philosophy on my node
It is good if you dream of your cell phone as our friend Kava does, you can make it a tool for achieving lucidity. The reality check would be to look at the phone’s time to see if it even makes any sense, or you could try pressing a button in it to see if it works.
Just letting u know, if your phone isn’ t working well, don’ t do the pushing buttons one, as a reality check, it might make you confused. I need to get a new cell phone. That’s a good idea too. To set it to go off earlier then previous time. Yeah that is very true, if you are falling back asleep over and over you can easily enter an LD. Or at least get some dream recall in. Before waking up, if you haven’t yet.
Here is something else you can do with it, that Ill try tomorow, Im going to set my alarm for 30 minutes, and do a RC, and recet it throughout the day, doing a RC each time. Then tonight Ill set my timer to go off three hours latter, then put the phone under my pillow, and see if it triggers a LD. I may have to do it for a few days before it will work, if I dont sleep through the alarml, but it rings about 5 times so I think It might work. Wow I never realized it the cell phone is like the swiss army knife of lucid dreaming.
LOL!! That is so true. Sounds like a good idea. I wake up too easily, second I hear something, I’m awake. So that won’t work for me. It has beeped before in my dreams, and then when I heard it, I woke up too. But it will work for you if your a deep sleeper. And I was thinking about the post above me, if your worried about having FA’s, that if you do decide to use a cell phone for reality checks, you can make a habit of asking yourself if your dreaming, when you wake up, that way there’s no confusion between False Awakenings and Really waking up. Btw, my Mom is a deep sleeper, nothing wakes her up. You have to really shrugg her awake and then she’s like, WHat??? LOL!!
