besides the obvious physical factors
I think all of that energy remains in the meat itself, so its not just your body that eats
if people could only wake from their sleep and meet the world as it is, things would be different
thanks for sharing
i just cant eat meat after seeing that. i went to mcdonalds a week ago and looking at the food made me nautious, lol.
must…not…yell…at…peta…person…
You are a foolish person Josh. Especially if you support PETA. I can’t be mad that you feel that you can’t eat meat after watching some videos with the sole purpose of shocking you, because frankly that is exactly what they want you to do.
We were made to eat meat. The reason you are so shocked by this type of thing is because we no longer live in tribes of people. Our meat is killed and treated by people we will never meet. That makes us more sensitive to the visuals of how our food is produced.
If you want to know what PETA is really all about. Watch Penn & Teller: Bullshit! I hope that doesn’t get taken off because that is the real name of the show. They uncover what even PETA’s supporters don’t know about their ‘Animal Rights Movement’.
By the way, get a life. There are much more important things to worry about rather than how something got killed that you are going to end up crapping out a day later.
While I don’t fully disagree on the PETA issue, saying that it is foolish not to eat meat cause you watched a video whose intention was to make people go vegetarian is not a very valid point.
If you want your opinion to be noticed, you need publicity, that is how life works nowadays. Therefore, just about any opinion is supported by a video… which doesn’t mean that the opinion is wrong.
I don’t see many things in my life that are more important than the fate of the humans and animals I live together with in this world. To be precise, there is exactly one, but only to a certain degree.
Get your own life - stop taking others
tapir
there is zero justification for the inhumane treatment of animals for food, period.
If you think that being human and having the power to makes it okay, then fuck you, I can use the same line of judgement for molesting children.
but wait that’s different, you say? Not really, eating has nothing to do with torture and sadistic killing, and sex has nothing to do with preying on the unconsenting.
at any rate if you don’t want to eat at McDonoald’s ever again (I would hope this includes all of us) just go watch Supersize Me! I haven’t seen it, but what I’ve heard about it reinforces my hate of fastfood in general. Being a college student makes it hard to NOT eat fast food though, our own food courts are full of it.
I love meat. i’m not watching it, because if it makes people not love meat it’s evil.
And PETA is a radical group, and thus its views must be recognized as such.
I agree. I watched the first 3-4 minutes, and I’m sorry, but for some reason it just made me burst out laughing. I mean, yes, it’s cruel. If possible, it should stop, but the way the PETA guy talked just made it sound funny and I’m not going to stop eating meat just because the animals are treated crually. I like meat. I like BigMacs. I will still eat meat.
lemme just tell you, that I just ate an ostrich burger, and it was the most unbelievable thing I have ever tasted Meat is delicious, and no radical vegan group will ever persuade me otherwise, especially PETA and their propaganda
Really? What does osterich taste like? I know my dad tried a buffalo burger up in Alaska one time. I’d have to say that I’m mostly a beef and chicken guy. I love shredded beef, ground beef, extra-crispy fried chicken, shredded chicken, spicy chicken, sesame chicken, orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, Princess Chicken…mmmm… /me drools at the thought of freshly cooked meat…
imaging the lightest, most tender, most suculent burger you have ever eaten. now make it a lighter taste, and there you go, kinda hard to explain, but it’s god like
mmm sounds divine… I love fresh hamburgers still hot from the grill…seasoned with paradisiacal BBQ sauce, with the cheese melted, pickles, lettuce, tomato…biting into that nice, juicy, thick burger… (or you could substitute the berger for some greasy, high-fat bacon…I’m not fat, I just love meat…)
meat lovers rejoice
I never once said what they did was justified. But the fact that animals are abused when being slaughtered makes no difference when you consume the product.
So what, that these people abuse the animals. The reason why this is a totally different world from child molestation is that these animals are not going to grow up to have depression problems.
I do agree with the comments on fast food. Although I think the problem of Americans being ‘over weight’ has been blown out of proportion of how things really are, fast food still is no good for us. I have not eaten at McDonalds or Burger King for years, but that is just because I got food poisoning from them.
Downwardspiral, if you just replace the word animals with, eg, children, we’d immediately get more frightening associations. In the way you’re thinking, you indirectly say that it is right to torture death-sentenced prisoners, am I right?
Where’s the empathy? You gotta realize that we’re animals too, and yes, we might have been animals similar to, let’s say a pig. Meat was/is necessary to survive, but it doesn’t make it uncruel.
same here Downwardspiral, I was sick for hours, throwing up all over the place after that moment I never will eat fast food again
by the way, animals, such as pigs and cows, have no thought. they run on instinct, and emotions alone. now, death sentanced prisoners can think, and do know rational fear. to torture a cow that is going to feed someone out there, and to torture an other human being is completely different. maybe not phisicaly, but certainly morally.
if you’re going to kill somebody, the least you can do is be polite about it.
im not sure who made that statement, but i know it was made during ww2. and i think it applies to every living thing on the planet. torturing anyone, human or otherwise, is just wrong. sure, we have to kill something to live, cuz all we can eat is organic matter, ie animals/plants, but that doesnt give us the right to make whatever we are going to eat suffer for it.
so far i havent seen that video, cuz i just ate , but cruel treatment of animals should be punishable by death.
We can never know for sure. but…
Scenario one. Cows do have thoughts. it wouldn’t be morally right to kill it.
Scenario two. Cows do not have thoughts, only feelings( you gotta agree they have that at least…) It wouldn’t be right to kill them either, just as it’s not right to kill a child, a person with brain damage etc.
yeah, I really don’t want them to torture the cows but I love meat too much to stop eating it
