coffee anyone? (effects of strong coffee.)

i made a discovery a while back on the effects of double brewed or just really strong coffee. some of you might not know that caffine in high(allthough probly not safe)doses can work in reverse causing you to have a “strong crash”.and will almost put you to sleep like a tranqualizer. but not as fast and if you try hard enough you can stay awake.

that being said it might be able to help you achieve a ld, and/or keep you asleep. i shouldve proly posted this in the research section . but im not sure if it has been discussed b4 or not.

also i was wandering if falling asleep fast is positive or negitive for achieving a LD.?

for now im going to try wild hope when check back someone could give some thought to this.

Falling asleep faster allows for faster WILD’s, so I’m saying it’s definitely an advantage.

coffeine is definitifly helpful used while wbtbs, i have coffeine pills from the drugstore.

am-i-d, I’ve heard of coffee being used to control the timing of very short naps (although not in a context relating to dreaming)
iirc it was a case of drinking coffee, dropping off immediately and then waking up 10 or 15 minutes later when the caffeine kicks in.

…of course that is the reverse of what you were considering!

if it helps i’ve been drinking ALOT of coffee lately due to long work hours(i mean alot  ) and my DR has been up,i went from one dream a night,if im lucky,to one every night and two or three fragments, but im not sure if its the coffee or the fact that i recently started using WBTB,and i wont have a whole lotta time for dreams at all pretty soon seeing as im going to be getting only one or two hours of sleep a night but if you start a research topic i will sign up as soon as i can, witch will probably be around the 1st of the year tho…

slanderous, only one or two hours of sleep a night is really terrible for you  Specially if you do WBTB. If you have little time to sleep I suggest something that won’t keep you awake any longer, like MILD. Not my business, I know, just some friendly advice

In regards to coffee, I don’t usually drink it, but I think I’ve seen someone talk about it in some long forgotten topic… does cafeine keep only the mind awake? and leave the body relaxed? If so I guess it could help get lucid, WILD specially, although high amounts wouldn’t be healthy indeed…

i know  but i’ll be at work the rest of the time so theres not really alot i can do,im going to stop WBTB soon  ,i got six last night, and my WBTB was only long enough for me to go pee, haha, and mattias as a more or less non coffee drinker wouldn’t you be a good “control” for an “affect of coffee/caffeine on LDs” project? assuming you’d be interested of course :content:

and thanks for caring by the way  all most people have to say is “d***,that sucks for you!! hahaha”

No problem. Besides the health thing, if I get less than 7 or 8 hours of sleep I simply don’t function at all  but that’s me and my lazy mind

And yeah, I guess I could be a good control if anyone ends up making an experiment

yea I’m the same way,me and all the guys i work with get kinda…“odd” this time of year,i saw “T” talking to a ham last year, funny part is,he got P****!

and if no-one does by the first of the year i will start it my self

ok now that ppl are interested im going to start the experiment. be looking for the sign up… soon
