I am having a bad problem with remembering my dreams, i hardly ever remember anything in the morning, I’d like to know what things people actually DO to remember. But back to my concentration problem, when im going to sleep, i have yet to reach HI state, yes i am doing wild without wbtb, i understand this is hard, but really, i will be saying 1 im dreaming 2 im dreaming etc, but eventually ill hit 50 or so about the third time around, ill just go 51 52 without even saying im dreaming and then lose focus and drift off… any ideas to help me keep more focus on staying up while i let my body fall asleep? And is there any way to get my body to go limp faster?
The single most effective way to improve concentration is to practise… over time your concentration will improve. don’t worry about it.
Your best bet would be to combine it with WBTB. Not only would you better enter REM sleep, but you’ll fall asleep faster, meaning less counting. Trying WILD as soon as you go to bed is much harder than with WBTB or as part of an afternoon nap.
I am only at the same stage as you in using WILD but to remembr if you WTBT you will get a WAY stronger sense of your dream and will usually remember all of it. Also it will probabaly be way easier to use WILD then rather than when you first go to sleep. (i dont because my alarm is phycotically loud).
The problem for some of us, is that we are not the only people in the house.
The idea of the alarm going off at an ungodly hour in the morning is fine with the individual who is trying to WBTB; but i’m not sure anyone else sharing that space would be too enthusiastic…
Is this the reason why you are not trying to WILD with WBTB, Kaotix?
I accidentally discovered a way to force myself to wake up at odd hours while experimenting. I tried wearing ear plugs the other day to block out my wife’s snoring, and random noises from wind, cats, etc. I fell asleep quickly (even though I was trying to WILD), but later that night the ear plugs began to irritate me and my ear canals began to sweat, causing me to wake up from discomfort.
I surmise that another way to do this would be to drink a glass of water right before bed, so that you are forced to wake up and use the bathroom in the middle of the night. WARNING: Do not try this method if you are a heavy sleeper, or have consumed massive amounts of alcohol the day prior. You might find yourself dreaming about using the bathroom; and we all know what that leads to…
Anyway, just try something that will eventually make your body uncomfortable enough to wake up - find something to do for a few minutes - and try for a WILD!
Good luck keeping your concentration when you are drowsy, though
I have yet to have a LD,but my dream recall is very good. On average I remember a minimum of 2 dreams a night, but sometimes its around 4-5.
I have a poster, only a small one, which i made myself which said simply ‘Remember your Dreams’. Iv made it look all mystical and fancy. I look at it every night before i close my eyes to sleep and believe what it sais, I then say in my head, with my eyes open “I will remember my dreams.”
I dont know what your diet is like, but if its all junk food you better think about changing it. fruit, veg, pasta, seeds and lentals. Meats is fine as long as its not rubbish stuff and try cutting down on sugars.
I have read about herbs you can try, Calea Z is said to be really good, although i havnt tried it.I dont like taking stuff like this as it has not been tested and may have side effects. But those that do take say its ok,and its usualy put into emtpy pill capsules which you can buy and swallowed with water. Im not sure on the quatities, you will have to find that out.
Theres also a herb I think, called Salvia, but I know even less about this one so…
If you do consider taking anything like that,I advise you do your homework and find out as much as you can about it.
I do prefer however, to do it all myself without out taking stuff. Practice makes perfect.
It is called Calea Zacatechichi and you can read more on it here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calea_zacatechichi
Now that you brought it up, I am intrigued with it myself…
Oh one other thing, I also have trouble keeping my eyelids shut lol… weird eh? dunno if i get paranoied but i see light in shapes of my windows etc and realize my eyes are open, or its my mind playing tricks, either way i have a hard time keeping them closed some times, any ideas or experiance?

I know that feeling. You must have a vivid imagination. Something I learned in a body sense class is to control your thoughts. Think about worrying as a possibly negative thing. Paranoia is annoying I know. I used to think my hearing was off because I heard buzzes sometimes. My doctor just said that means I am tired, it’s normal. So don’t worry too much just think of positive things.
I read on this site, to visually think of a vaccum emptying your brain at night. It will pull out some of the unneccissary ‘what if this what if that’ scenario’s.
Thats my advice
