Confused about something...

I spent the night at my friends last night and was woken up at 8 (went to bed at 4am) having to go home for some reason. I drove home and I got back to bed after about an hour and went back to sleep. All of a sudden trying to go back to sleep I saw a alot of gray and in the middle there was a house, looked like 3D animation and it was spinning. I knew I was dreaming in a sort of way because it wasnt the normal black that you see when your eyes are closed. My body felt like I wasnt dreaming but I thought that if I moved I would wake up. I tried visualizing different things happening but nothing happened. Then I was woken up by my sister stomping around the house and after I fell asleep again I dont remember anything.

I thought for sure that I would just move my real arm and I wouldnt be in that state anymore. I didnt experience any HI or SP(that i know of because I didnt move).

If something like this happens again should I try moving what feals like is my real body, which might be my dream body?

I think what you experienced was a form of hypnagogic imagery. My HI is usually pretty much like what you described. I’ll get some random images that replace my “normal eye closed blackness”, but i’ll still be somewhat aware of my body.

I think if this happens again, you should just kinda… “go with it” I guess. See what image pops up after that first image you see. Let yourself kinda go “deeper under”. I’ve had some crazy bouts of HI where i’d get a new image every couple seconds. All done unconsciously though, like I wouldn’t be thinking of “whats coming up next”.
When you’re images get vivid enough, see if you can somehow enter them. If another house comes up, try zooming into it and opening the door. Hopefully, if you’re “deep under” and your body’s asleep, it’ll be your dream body arm opening that door and not your real one.
