Consiousness during a LD

Normally, in a dream, it seems as if you’re watching it through “tunnel vision” or like you’re only focusing on whats going on. You also can’t really stop and think, and you can’t really control yourself. You’re pretty much just watching yourself do w/e.
Now, once you figure out you’re dreaming and you’re in a LD, does that change? Like, does it change to everything looking like it does in the real world (as in, you’re looking through your eyes, and not in 3rd person, you can think, you can look around as if it was the real world) Kinda like you’re in RL, exept you can control it, and you feel like you might wake up. (those who had LD’s before should know the answer)

For the few lucid dreams I’ve had, I couldn’t quite get a clear grasp of view because the dreams were so short, roughly 15 seconds a piece. However, what I did notice was that suddenly my dream world became a lot more real in the sense that I could feel the air or life nearby rushing around me almost like wind. My lucid dreams are a bit different than other people’s though, but that’s just my experience with them.

In dreams you can have many different points of view such as your 3rd person or 1st person like in real life.

When you go into a lucid dream for the main part (for me at least) it is in 1st person like real life looking out of my body. But you can change it to have any point of View you want. You just have to experement around and with a little practice you can have any POV you want.

First of all, the mandatory :welcome:

Well, most of the LD’s I’ve had were when I was 5/6 asleep and still had a grip on reality. Tough I realize I am physicaly in my bed I still at times question reality. But, everything I see and do feels real to me. Also, don’t think you have complete control when in an LD. Though you can influence what is happening your SC is still playing the dream and it is hard to control that. For example if I really concentrate i can manage to make my DC’s say stuff but it is really frustrating to try and make them walk somewhere. So just kinda go with the flow of the dream and try to make the best of it.

P.S. Since your new here I want to tell you not to over do the atempts to have a lucid dream. It really is difficult to call upon on demand but I would suggest if you wake up after an extreemly vivid dream to atempt to fall back asleep while thinking about the dream and maybe you could spark a very light Lucidity and to say calm and wait until it is strong enough to explore.

for me, the dream immediately becomes much more clear and realistic the moment I become lucid, this probably doesn’t apply to everybody though.

i can’t really say if i have tunnel vision in my dreams, but they all have the same view. i don’t get responses in my peripheral vision though, or at least not that i know of. going lucid also doesnt change that. generally my dreams have a rather solid framework around them, and this is one of those things that just stays the same. i don’t feel like i’m missing anything though, because my POV will change seamlessly as soon as i start thinking about something in a dream. sort of like the change from one camera to the next in a movie. whatever happens, my focus is right there. once in an LD though, my POV stays in 1st person most of the time, since i don’t need to move it. i move everything else instead

What do you mean by over do? I mean, each time I try to have a LD, even if I fail, can’t I consider that “practice”? Or are you just saying to expect some frustration?

All my LDs so far have been very quick. One of them, I kept looking at the floor (which looked very real, by the way!). As soon as I tryed to look away things started to fade…
“wait until it is strong enough to explore”: I feel like if I wait, I’ll forget I’m dreaming or wake up…
