Could a fan be the reason i've been having alot of LDs?

I have LDs around 3-4 times a month, usually.

But recently i have had my oscillating fan switched on, which means i have a constant breeze being blown over my body (Sleeping on top of sheets as it’s so warm).

With this, i seem to be having more LDs (3/7 nights so far) , the weird thing is, i don’t remember doing my RCs to gain lucidity.

Could it be possible that the fan is helping me have LDs?

:eh:

The fan, is probably making you relax more. And the best way to get lucid (in my opinion) is to just let it happen, and relax about it. Dont stress over it to much.

So yeah, if the fan helps you relax thats probably why you’ve been having so many.

It’s probably relaxing, and creates a constant sound. Do you ever hear the fan while you’re falling asleep or dreaming, maybe it will trigger your lucidness.

The last week i’ve also slept with a fan… But I have just had 1 LD.

It may have several reasons, I minimized them to 2 that I think that actualy cause this, first is that the breeze makes you feel your physical body making you realise your dreaming.
The second, which I think is the real reason is that your mind concentrates on the sound, causing you to WILD unconsciously.

i can’t sleep without the white noise of a fan, and in my room i currently have an in-window air conditioner on all the time, and a box fan blowing in the direction of my bead.

i’ve actually been trying to turn the box fan off, so i don’t have the constant feeling of air moving over me, and i think it’s been helping me get closer to lucidity (i’m an extremely light sleeper, so it wakes me up.) it might be the change in your environment.

my best guess is the new white noise is helping you relax to sleep, and the air moving over your body is pulling you back to consciousness when you’re sleeping.

so long as it doesn’t fully wake you up and interrupt your sleep, keep up with it!

if you really want to test if the fan is the reason why you’re having more LDs then you should switch it off for a night

after reading this i’m thinking of putting a fan in my room lol
my air conditioning was busted for like three days and on the last day my mom found a fan that she said i could assemble
now i stumble onto this and it’s like fate lol
i’m not saying it’ll work for me but who knows?

I’ve always slept with a fan on. I get really warm at night sometimes and the noise is calming, but I haven’t had an LD. I sleep under my covers, though as I get too cold sometimes. That’s good you’ve found a way to get more LD’s yourself, though.

I’m thinking about getting an oscillating fan now, too!
I have ceiling fan that i put up myself. Since i put it together, I apparently left a screw loose, so when the fan is on high, it shakes and makes a little bit of noise. When it spins fast enough it will shake and cause the tiny metal ball on the end of the pull-string to tap against the glass of the bulb cover.
I normally turn it off at night cuz the sound can get annoying, BUT I’m thinking that maybe if I concentrate on the noise as I’m falling asleep, it might help to induce a LD?
