Create a WILD audio track project.

I have been thinking about starting this topic for a while and I am finally getting around to it. Basically I know there are quite a few “lucid songs” and different tracks to listen to while you sleep and even a few visualization ones that use hypnosis to help prepare you for when you getting around to sleeping…I think I may have even found a few kind of like what I’m going to propose, but I’ve never found any that I really liked.

So the general idea is to make an audio track that through guided visualizations, sounds, and perhaps some good background music will help guide a person into a WILD. I actually slapped together something like this before with a recording of my own voice and sounds from FreeSound. It was alright, but I don’t particularly like my voice, I don’t have good recording equipment, and I created it hastily in a few hours.

I’ve always liked the idea though, so here is my idea. I want to start a project with a group of people on here (much like the ld4all flash project and such) where we can all work together to make a really good track for us all to use. We will need a script (which we can all revise together to optimize), suggestions for background music, volunteers for the actual voice part of it, someone to compile it all, and anything else anyone can think of that would help. I personally am willing to try to workout a script and do any of the compiling it all together, but I’m willing to work things out with anyone.

Let me know what you all think and if I need to elaborate on anything or if you want to volunteer.

I could voulonteer for the voice…I have been given compliments regarding my voice. (just cant remember what i was told EXACTLY)

Awesome, thanks Arabinator. Perhaps you could post a sample so people can say what they think. Any other volunteers for any other parts? I was starting to lose hope and work on the project on my own and just post the progress. Thanks again Arabinator.

Well, I went ahead and threw together a really rough script. It doesn’t include much about when or what sounds would be included; I could probably write another one indicating that but I wanted to see if I got any opinions on this first.
Here is the link: SCRIPT . I would love to get feedback on any aspect of this ranging from general suggestions as to wording, additions, grammar, even spelling though it wont matter much in the long run.
I will continue revising it myself and have found a way to filter my mic pretty well so if this topic continues to not attract much interest I suppose I will go ahead and create it myself and post the results. I think itd be more fun if we could get a group going here and help incorporate what many people would like to see in an induction track, but I guess we will see.

You need a female voice

Hm, ok, thanks for the suggestion. I know a lot of tracks usually use a deeper male voice but a female voice may be nice as well. If we can get a female to volunteer as well then maybe we could actually do two different renderings with each voice so people can choose.

Hey - i know this is a bit late in the day but i don’t mind lending my voice - and i’m a girl

Thanks! Unfortunately this topic doesnt seem to be getting much attention. I really need some people to look over the script and just general input from different people what they think is essential to be in(or out of) this track for it to work well.

I tried to look at the script link above but the link didn’t work. I’m quite happy to take a look at it - although im not sure how much help i will be if its just me!

im willing to take a look at it as well, and i think if the link is working other people might show interest. but hey, thats 2 now!

Awesome, I have actually modified the script a bit since the original link anyways. Unfortunately I didnt like the original hosting site anyways, does anyone have a good recommendation of where to host it?

I have been working on a Full Length Double Disc entitled "Waking up on Opposite Day"© for 3 years now. Overall the project is many things, WILD inducing an interwoven layer for people of like mindss. 24 Tracks, 24 Hours in a day. It will be available on iTunes® Mid 3rd Quarter 2010.

Wond3rland -that sounds really interesting! Sounds like a mega project!

And Rarebreed, wish i could help with the hosting but technical stuff like that is not exactly my strength - the only one i’ve ever heard of is RapidShare but i’m sure you know that one. Let us know if you get it up somewhere!

Ok. Im trying hosting the script on a new site I found. filedropper.com/script

Hey i think that script looks really good. Just a couple of thoughts really… i think it might be disruptive to have the explanation of what is to follow once you get into the relaxation etc… i think the stuff at the beginning is fine but i think it would put me off and feel too artificial if it had the
“Now to finish off the relaxation you need to do a simple visualization that builds on top of the prior exercise” part left in. I think it should just lead naturally straight into the next part of the meditation? What do you think?

Also i think the end of the track would be really important - something that wouldn’t disturb you if the track had worked as intended - otherwise all that hard work could be for nothing! If that bit wasn’t done right then it would kinda mess up all the good stuff before it…

But, like i said - i really like the script - i think you’ve done a great job on it!

Thanks, I see where you are coming from with keeping all the visualizations a continuous stream, Ill see how I can rework it at some point. Also, what do you think would need to be done at the end? I figured after the script was finished it would just play some relaxing music for an additional 10 or 20min and slowly fade out.

I don’t think it needs much reworking - just sort off cutting out the explanation bits?

That sounds good what you have in mind for the end - maybe music for about 10mins that very very gently fades out so its almost not noticeable when it has stopped? So there’s not sudden silence or something - do you know what i mean? I suppose thats what you were thinking of anyway!

ok, I honestly havent looked it through thoroughly in a while though, so Ill do that at some point and check to see if I can make it more smooth in general, or if I should just cut out the one part as you suggest.

And that was what I had in mind, hopefully itd allow a smooth transition.

Thanks for reading it over and the suggestions:)

You’re welcome! Maybe you just post a link to the new version - hopefully other people can get interested in it too - and like i said i don’t mind lending my voice if other people can stand listening to it!
