Has anybody read the book “Lucid Dreaming Gateway to the Inner Self” by Robbert Waggoner? I’m interested in the really deep tasks that he describes inside Lucid Dreams and about people’s experiences with things such as hearing your feeling tone, precognitive information seeking, speaking with the deceased, and finding explanations to reality.
I would love to try them out myself, but I think I need to get my 3rd LD before I can start doing this stuff.
No I havent but really, all that “deep” stuff-start trying it after you had some fun in LDs like flying and having superpowers. After that you can try that, but trust me, you have to be really good at LDing if you want to try it. When you dream, it will fly out of your mind.
I haven’t read the Book but it sounds interesting. I have visited with my fience that past away 9 years ago in an LD, that LD was really intense! The other night I had an LD and I wanted to see if things really tasted the same in a LD as they do in RL. I was eating chocolate covered cookies and trying to figure out how I could actually be tasting them in the dream. It sounds weird but I could almost feel the electrons in my brain firing off interpreting taste. Both dreams are in my DJ the first one is called Open your eyes and see with your heart (something like that) and the food tasting one is the last entry. Anyway good luck with your LD’s it is such an amazing adventure!
I have read the book. I thought that it was by far the most entertaining book on LDing that i’ve read (EWLD is the most informative). I really like Waggoner’s style, and i like how the book assumes that you already know how to LD. It’s not so much for instruction as it is for discussion and interesting perspectives… but anyways
If you want to try some “deeper” tasks in your LD’s, here’s an easy start that you can probably already accomplish: Think of an important question that you want to know and ask a dream character. It can be something like “What advice do i need to know to live happily?” or if you want to know more about the dream, try asking a dream character what he/she represents, or why he/she is in your dream. You can also try to acknowlege repressed characters in your dream like Waggoner describes in that dream with the lady standing behind him at the dinner table or whatever. talking to your DCs about yourself or about your dream is a simple yet effective way to maybe find some deep answers or meanings in your LD. then once you get more experience, you can try some more complex tasks like the feeling tone thing or whatever you wish to try.
