Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with the intention of chaining a dream but I had to move to turn off my alarm. However during the whole process I was able to keep my eyes closed and I tried to move as little as possible. I found that I was able to return to my previous dream very quickly (after about 10 secs) but I was not lucid; I am not trying to become lucid yet… I just want to try to get used to chaining first. Would this be considered a successful chaining of a ND or a failed “WILD”?
I would say so, yes. The “definition” of chaining tells you not to move, but I find that if I move a little but keep the “mindset” (thinking about dreaming, keeping eyes closed, etc) I’m able to quickly enter a dream again.
Now when you are ready to get lucid you can try some MILD mantras, that works pretty well for me. Although chaining ND’s can be fun too! Once I chained 3 ND’s into an epic dragon dream!
Congratulations on your success! It’s best to use chaining to enter dreams consciously, as in a 1 minute WILD, although there are some ND that I would love to reenter, and sometimes I do
