I was taking an afternoon nap and usually as I understand it is very hard for a beginner to wild right away (without sleeping first for 5 or so hours) but i had been drinking the night before and I remembered reading about REM rebound so I decided to try and WILD. I got numb and tingly, focused on the “third eye”, just relaxed and drifted to sleep while trying to keep awareness. It seems i fell asleep for about one second then all of a sudden i saw the exact scene in my room as if my eyes were open, it was an amazing experience and unfortunately i got exited and opened my eyes and when i opened my eyes it was a carbon copy of the vision i had in my head. Although it seems i WILD’ed there was little HI, no SP no hearing random noises it seems i just sorta focused on relaxing as i fell asleep and that focusing kept me aware enough to get into an LD? either way i have to say I am extremely excited I found out about all this and cant wait for more discovery along the path to LD’s
It may be more difficult without alcohol
Hi Metaphysiks! Welcome to the forum!
It happens sometimes when you fall asleep in unusual circumstances, for instance in the train or at work. Yet it happened to me too (yet very rarely) in my bed when lights are switched off: I could “see” my bedroom. It’s called by astralists “astral vision” but as for me I think it’s more like hypnagogic imagery.
And no, sonkal, it has nothing to do with alcohol.
Yeah the same thing happened to me! And i thought oh man i have work… and then i realised… this doesnt seem right and realised i was dreaming and became lucid = )
keep it up
cya man
I have also experienced lucidity during an afternoon nap, after a night of drinking.
I think it’s more likely the simple fact that you had an afternoon nap, especially if you had a late night, as you would possibly go straight into REM sleep.
