discreet alarm clocks?

hey how would you guys go about making a discreet alarm clock with only these things to use:

either

a mobile phone, annoying ringtone (loud)

OR

a nintendo DS alot quiter, little bleeps

AND

a pair of earphones. (don’t have to use)

That’s all I have. Could you guys suggest which’d be better and where to place the earphones?

Thanks…

I’d say… rather do like me… wake up by yourself.

Everyone wakes up a minute or so in the night between some sleep cycles. Then some of them don’t remember it in the morning.

If you spontaneously wake up at like 4am… or even 6am… take advantage of it!

Besides that, I have no idea.

Use the NDS and headphones.

Nintendo ftw!

Does the phone have a vibrating function? You could set it to vibrating alarm and put it beside your pillow.

yeah it does, but I tried that the other day (checking ds and phone out to see wihch I should use) and it just has the sound alarm anyway! I mean, what’s the point?

Sometimes, I put a massive book on the side of my bed and usually about 5 hours into sleeping (I don’t know why) , I knock it off my bed therefore causing me to wake up. This is a pretty inconsistent method but it’s worked for me at times, and you can still wake up without an annoying alarm, or you can keep your eyes closed and try to go directly into an LD.

Or, you could actually say before you go to bed, “I will wake up after my dream.” It’s worked two nights in a row for me.

Good luck.

A clock radio turned down low enough not to wake other people? Assuming that is the problem.

lol It takes an EXTREMELY loud alarm clock to wake me up. Sometimes I even sleep through it wakes up my mom (who sleeps on the other side of the house) who comes to yell at me for not getting up. lol.

Last night, I clipped my pager on the left side of my underwear and set the alarm to vibrate. I didn’t feel it in my dream, but I woke up between 15-45 minutes after the time I had set (4h30; 6h00; 7h30; 9h00). I really was into it since in my first dream, I talked about that idea with friends !!

Today, and for the next couple one coming, I will set this vibrating alarm at random time during the day, and do a RC everytime it vibrates.

Then at night, maybe this will trigger RC in my dream! I’ll let you know how it goes!

hey I had a similar idea but never got round to trying it out - hope it works and I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes. But there is one downside though - the makers of the pager will be boasting about how they can be used to induce LDs on their ads!

I use my DS for alarm purposes.
Its not very loud, but distinguished.
Also the alarm can be set an hour later with just two little taps of the screen.
That is after i have removed the post it that says “do a RC now” from the screen ^^

I think its the best

I tried my DS a couple of times, but it never woke me up!

I have been using my pager to “prompt” RC IRL at random time and going to bed with it clipped to the left side of my underwear.

Yet, it has not entered or was not part of any dream. It might not vibrate with enough “strenght”. BUT, I always wake up very soon after I set it to vibrate(about 30 minutes after the alarm). Is it my brain (auto-suggestion to wake up at that time) or the pager who wakes me up ??

I will continue to use it for a while, because twice, I had short FA where I was setting the next alarm and the text on the pager was weird… didn’t get lucid with that yet…

I have been using that pager for one week, and except for the first night, it was in none of my dreams.

It never triggered a RC, exect in WL. It is a very light and useful alarm. It wakes me up smoothly and usually 15 to about 30 minutes after the time I set.

Last night, I did not use it, telling myself I would naturaly wake up at specific time, but I didnt wake up, expect at 6AM (too much water…).

So, I will continue using the pager but only to wake up, instead of using a loud and noisy clock alarm.
