Im really excited to start lucid dreaming. I have been on an off since i was 8 accidently. and now i would really like to get the tehcniques down.
I was reading about SP and it freaked me out. I really dont want to go through a SP. And i was wondering if all WILD’s lead to SP’s or if theres just anyway to avoid SP in general.
Thanks for the help ahead of time i know this may not be the right forum.
Yes, all WILDs lead to SP. The only way to avoid SP is to do MILD, or DILD. The only thing to remember is your body goes through SP every night while you’re asleep.
The SP isn’t always noticed consciously. I have had WILDs that has flowed smoothly from the HI and “daydreaming” into a proper dream, without being bothered by any SP.
Bull***! Damn WILD is not always follow by SP. If you’d wake up gently from a WILD you would probably wake up just normal. If you on the other hand would wake up sudden, the chances of SP are a bit bigger.
What Siiw described is also very common.
And If you are lucky you will be having a lucid dream until you wake up in the morning
Well thanks for all the help. I was just reading aobut WILDS and i really didnt want to get into SP’s. I have lucid dreamt before twice when i was about 7 or 8 and it was just from being in a dream and realising that it was dreaming. but after 10 seconds or so i woke myself up because i was afraid that i might not be able to wake up. So i think im going to try RC methods and just trying to notice that its a dream in a dream because SP’s scare the shit out of me lol.
Not all WILDs necessarily need SP. When I did WILDs a year ago, I never had SP. I usually get it now, but it feels more like I don’t want to move my body as opposed to I can’t move my body.
Of course, that’s after having experience with SP. The first time is always weird.
Last night I succesfully WILDed (i think that it was wild ) I went to sleep at 3:30 and I woke up at 9:00 for WBTB and tried WILD, i counted to something about 40 and next thing i remember was being in dream… I didn’t even do RC, I just knew that I’m dreaming… I didn’t have SP, I suddenly was in dream, what a great experience it was I’m falling asleep fast, but I am surprised that so fast
I was going to bed last night and I tried a WILD.
My legs felt very heavy and I tried to move them just a little bit, to see if it was SP.
(I didn’t try too much, in case I would lose it)
If I got more relaxed it seemed to start to move to my arms.
I was wondering if this is good progress, or an un-related coincidence.
(A little bit off topic, but seemed the most fitting)
Well, you don’t get SP until you reach your first REM sleep (90 minutes?) and the numbness simply occurs when you’re lying still and relaxing your muscles for a while.
