I tried WBTB + WILD after a few hours of sleep last night. My WILD pretty much failed quickly because I accidentally fell asleep after a few minutes… So I was tossing and turning and i guess I kind of forgot about what I was trying to do, and maybe like 45 minutes or so later I was laying there, eyes open, body feeling really heavy. I tried lifting my arm and it was like it was 400 pounds. I figured SP was coming so I relaxed and just let it happen and then I was in SP with some interesting sound hallucinations haha.
It’s not the first time this has happened. It’s weird because I have had so many failed WILD attempts where I just lay still forever with no results, but randomly SP will come to my when I’m half awake, and not even trying. It’s like my brain knows what I want and is trying to help me out.
Yep, this definitely occurs. What it means is that you’re body is entering REM sleep, and in this case you are still consciously aware it is happening as you fall into the dream state.
In one of its more harrowing version an person will wake from sleep but will still be paralyzed. They won’t however, have completely left REM and as a result will have HH. Oftentimes they see something coming for them from out of the shadows, and their fear only adds to the illusion This is frequently accompanied by a feeling of pressure over the chest and often with sounds (halluncinate) that serve to enhance the terror. But, if you know about it its a great chance to enter an LD. Just relax, chill out and wait and you’ll fall right back into REM and into a lucid dream.
The reason many people (including myself) often fail at WILD is that they focus and try too hard. What you described is the best way to do it. You shouldn’t try, just let it come to you naturally. So the more tired you are, the better you’ll do at it!
