Okay, I have found that the easiest technique for me when I wake up in the mornings is to just count in my head during a WILD until I fall asleep again, and I actually think I’ve got a few FAs from this technique before.
However, do you recommend it?
Is it a reliable way to get lucid dreams if you combine it with a Dream Journal?
Sure, why not? Seems you’ve been experimenting with what works for you, and that’s usually just what you need to do. Try it, and see how it works!
WILD in the morning is certainly better than WILD when you first go to sleep. Just keep playing around with it and try to stay aware so you can catch those FA’s. I think majority of my morning WILD’s end up coming in the form of FA, so it certainly works.
Thanks, I’ll try this then.
Actually I just moved into a new small cosy house two weeks ago and on my first night there I started focusing on Lucid Dreams again, so I’ve basically made my entire home one single LD reminder.
I don’t know if that’s good or bad, though - theoretically it should be a great help, but it might also negate the effect of my bedroom.
But I’m fairly sure it’s something positive.
Theoretically, it should pop up in your dreams sometimes I believe…
What did you mean exactly? You end up in a dream lucid but it has a theme of a FA[being in bed or bedroom] or you’re not lucid from the start and having FA you realize that you’re dreaming?
Because my WILD usually starts in my bedroom and I usually take of flying from my window which is usually gray and what I see behind the windows is grey for some to me unknown reason…
From my experience is the most reliable technique, if you get it right…
When I finally figured out how to WILD properly[at least for me] I’ve been successful for 5 morning straight. Today I didn’t WILD because I was just too tired and couldn’t keep myself awake but still had one short DILD…
Good luck with WILD!
This is what I have experienced several times during morning WILD attempts, I think I’ve had them at least six times the last few months.
The only problem is that everything seems so realistic that I assume it is real life, and then when I suddenly find myself in bed again I realize what I just missed.
I guess this is what people mean when they say that you should always check your surroundings just to make sure.
I had a breakthrough when I realized that WILD is only “wake induced” to some part of technique. Because I was doing constant mistake trying to stay awake until I end up in a dream. Now I just know when I have to let myself to fall asleep, and when I do next second I’m in a dream lucid, from the start.
I believe that this is mainly because we need to fall asleep to enter REM sleep where we dream plus I don’t experience intense HI like some dreamers and I can’t wait for dream to “form” around me…
EDIT:
The best way to realize that is FA is to do RC first second you wake up…
Like others have said, WILD with WBTB works much better than WILD falling asleep at night. Depending on your skill level, most people have like a 1% chance at having a successful WILD when falling asleep first thing at night. That’s because it’s a little over an hour before they hit their first REM cycle and your brain doesn’t create elaborate dream scapes in delta sleep, which you must pass through first. Also, it is next to impossible to maintain awareness in delta sleep. I did it once and it was absolutely terrifying. I was stuck in a completely black, lonely void, unable to breathe and with no sense of body for over 20 minutes.
However, I still recommend MILD as opposed to WILD any day. With WBTB, you have a 50% chance of successfully inducing a lucid dream via MILD, whereas most people only have a 10% to 20% chance of inducing a lucid dream via WILD (even with WBTB).
