This is no doubt some kind of WILD technique, and most likely exists already - but I would like to hear your opinions anyway.
I was thinking of a WILD attempt where you simply imagine a place as vividly as possible, and try to picture yourself being in that place from a first-person perspective until you fall asleep.
With any luck you should actually end up in that place, and even though I have only made very modest tests on this during five-minute naps (which obviously isn’t enough to actually initiate a lucid dream) it does feel like it has great potential.
But maybe that’s not exactly the way it works in practice?
As far as I know WILD is more about staying focused, so I’m not sure how reliable it would be to imagine an exact place that you want to start your dream in.
Hmm…
Anyway, what are your opinions?
Sounds like VILD which is a Visually Incubated Lucid Dream. You basically do as you describe.
I’ve done this and it works great. The thing is it has to be done at the right “moment”. If I’m too far away from sleep I’ll end up losing consciousness, or my mind will drift off, or I’ll be too concentrated to fall asleep. So for me it only works now and then when I get the feeling I’m in the right “spot”. If I knew how to systematically reach that “spot”, then that would be great!
