I’ve had very few lucid dreams where i actually attempted to become lucid, but ive noticed that most of the time i get dreams where i become lucid for only a few seconds, and then i go right back to normal dreams.
It usually happens in the mornings; i have a scary dream or a dream where i don’t like the outcome. I wake up for a second and realize that i am dreaming, and i am releived. I then go back to the dream and either ignore what the monsters in the dream try to do to me or i make the monsters dissapear, but after i do that, i go back to normal sleep.
Ive been wanting to get good at lucid dreaming, the first time when i actually had a lucid dream intentionally it lasted much longer than this. …but ive been having short dreams like these for as long as i can remember. …are these actually considered lucid dreams, and if they hare, have i been lucid dreaming for a few seconds in dreams like these without realizing it??
Hell yeah, they’re lucid dreams! I mean, the definition is very simple…lucidity in dreaming is being aware of the fact that you are dreaming while you are dreaming…I don’t think there’s a time requirement. I would also say, though (at least for me)…the longer the lucid dream, the better
Yep, if you know you’re dreaming then it is a lucid dream.
Simple as that.
However, there can be various levels of lucidity;
in low-level lucids you know it is a dream, but you don’t fully realize the potential and exactly what this means;
whereas in high-level lucids you are both aware AND have full control over everything.
There are also False Lucid Dreams where you act like a lucid dreamer and affect your surroundings in the way you want, but never actually realize it is a dream.
Yes, indeed…the more you focus on your lucid dreaming, the higher the quality of the awareness within them. It’s inevitable!
And (and this is a very intriguing phenomenon, to me) the more I practice RC’s throughout the day and really take notice of the myriad details that surround me day-in and day-out…details that I typically take for granted…the more lucid dream-like my daily life becomes. Which means that simple little details that usually go unnoticed begin to glow a little more…little by little…become more fascinating, somehow. I don’t know…it’s hard to describe. Lucid living, they call it here…very powerful endeavor, I feel. And increased lucid dreaming is one of the many fringe benefits.
Yes, I know what you mean.
If you focus a lot on details in your waking reality you will start to feel that everything is more “mysterious” and interesting, and if someone talks to you then you will feel like “hey you could’ve been a dream character”.
It’s a very meditative state actually, I love sitting somewhere in a calm place and just pretending that everything I see is a dream.
