Does WBTB technique require actually getting out of bed?

Or can i just lie down in bed, reading or playing games, for a cool ten minutes or so, then sleep?

It doesn’t have to, there are quite a few variations of it. For some techniques used with WBTB, such as WILD, it is better to only wake up for a few minutes as to make going back to sleep easier.

However, other techniques are more effective after staying up for 30 minutes or an hour. It all depends on the technique you are using and how easy it is for you to go back to sleep.

i stayed up for thirty minutes last night, and kind of lost track of my LD.

next time i do WBTB i’ll be sure its only for a few minutes.

Yeah, but watch out for just waking up and going straight back to sleep. You might want to get up to use the bathroom, if you need to of course, or go get a drink of water. Nothing drastic, just enough for your mind to wake up a bit more so that you can have higher chances to successfully perform your technique(s). :smile:
