Hello, i’ve recently encountered a dream drought and need some help.
I remember some dreams sometimes but should i still attempt LDing? LaBerge says that recalling dreams everyday then i should start i had that but thenwhen i tryed a MILD unsuccesfully and couldn’t remember any dreams from that day on i am still trying to LD so should i still try to reach lucidity or should i still try recalling? and if i should try recalling dreams what techniques for recall should i try i was thinking reading my dream journal before bed time.
What Do You Think?
Do some recalling first; even if you do LD you might not remember it! Yeah, so get up your recall again before any techniques - or you could do a hybrid.
yeah but how too get recall up is hard as im experiencing a drought
Do both, why just one or the other? I still practice Recall.
-Dream journal
-Intention to remember your dreams
-Ginkgo?
actually i guess your right even if i don’t remember an LD i would still train myself to have a lucid dream while im at it.
Thanks.
and ginkgo?
Well, I have no idea what ginko means so I won’t comment on that, but to help with your recall, my suggestion is this:
When you first wake up, instead of doing what you do in the morning, focus on your dreams, try to remember them while they’re still ripe, if you don’t pay any attention, you’ll never remember them, as soon as you remember one, even if it’s just a tiny bit of one, write it down, keep doing this and your DR should be good in no time… well it will take time, but you’ll be able to remember your dreams.
PS: dream recall does not effect LD’s the reason DR is an issue with some people is because since you aren’t concous in your dreams, you can’t really pay attention, so your DR is just as good as your recall of english class yesterday when you were shooting spit wads at the new kid instead of listening to the teacher. In a LD you are just as concous as you are in RL, so you are paying attention, but just like in real life, if you’re flying, you may not notice the pink elephant behind you, it all has to do with paying attention.
I’d leave a note “recall dream !” near bed or something, just make sure it to be one of first things you see. Dream is easy to recall, if you try to recall it quick after waking up. You can also seed that trought in mind by autosuggestion.
And I fully agree with Gyth in second thing - recall have nothing to LD ability, and propably when you’ll get a LD, you’ll get excited about it and you’ll want to recall it. You’ll propably recall it at morning.
That is definetly true. When you realize you are lucid dreaming, you become aware that you are sleeping and dreaming at the same time. Its a truly wonderful experience, one that words cannot do justice. When you eventually wake up, you have the same feeling.
Yes, but if your recall is no good, the dream will slip away faster then if you developed your recall.
If you want my take on dream recall, I recently wrote an article on it: My article about how to easily improve dream recall, for beginners.
