I’m wondering if it’s just me or if anyone else seems to have increased dream recall when they accidentally fall asleep while attempting to WILD. If so can anybody explain this? Not that I really need to know, I just have a quest for knowledge .
Not really sure, but it does make sense. When you’re trying to WILD, your mind is preoccupied with something very dream-related, so it seems only natural to me that should you fall asleep regularly in this state that you may be more prone to better recall and MILD or DILD successes.
I agree with Reno.
Usually, when I stay on LD4all for a long time, at night. The next day I have good dream recall.
So, thinking a lot about dreaming before bed helps with dream recall.
I’ve accidentally fallen asleep while trying to WILD many a time, and I’m in the same boat as you, I’ve noticed a greatly increased dream recall. I also seem to be more aware of abnormal things within my dream…but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to become fully lucid yet. perhaps, with more experience, I’ll be able to use this to my advantage, though!
That is a definite yes. I was trying to do a WILD when I had my first LD experience, which also happened to be the first time I remembered 4 dreams at once. I ended up just repeating my mantra once, and then falling into deep sleep.
-Last thing you think about must be something to do with dreaming to remind you that you will be actually dreaming. (like a boost)
-You MUST be relaxed and relieved of daily thoughts and stress. So try to fall asleep at least without thinking or daydreaming about anything, if anything fall asleep to a MILD mantra.
Its weird though, that is the first time I had an LD when I attempted a failed WILD. Maybe it was luck. I believe however that the reason is because you focus on relaxing your body, and thoughts, plus putting your mind on thinking about lucids. I need to remember this, every night… Be relaxed (body wise, and mind wise), literally don’t allow one single WL thought to enter your mind, instead occupy your mind with a MILD mantra or WILD counting. If you cannot fall asleep that way, then after about 5-10 minutes of it, stop, put all your focus onto your breathing or yourself slipping into sleep.
I hope I helped.
I remember once that i tried the tech where you focused on your ‘3rd eye’ for not much time and had very vivid dreams. So i guess is that if you can at least be concious while the 1 or 2 stages of sleep you can increase conciousness.
