Ok this is a little idea i have been thinking about. Most people say that dreams are based on the previous day and it is when the brain processes all the subconscious information it has picked up. Well what if dreams influence how the brain reacts to things the next day? The brain is always predicting what will happen next, whether it be what an object will look like or what a song will be. So why dont dreams influence predictions?
I came to this idea because iv sometimes seen or done something that initiates some dream recall. Though this might not mean the dream influenced the brains actions or thought process. There must be some sort of relationship or association.
Actually there is a theory, that dreams help us to adapt for events we need to face in future. For example, if you need to give a open speech next day, you might see during a night before that a dream where you are preparing for the speech, or actually giving it. So dreams help you to solve upcoming problems
I find that the dreams I had the previous night, will greatly affect how I wake up the next morning. If I have had a fulfilling and vivid dream, the mornings feel so much more satisfactory and full of energy. Especially if I have been flying in my dreams, I feel this crazy sense of freedom and lightness when I wake up.
This feeling will last all day, and affect everything I do. This is actually why i began to try and lucid dream in the first place, ( besides the fact that it is fucking AWESOME) to feel that feeling of ALIVENESS in the morning.
I don’t know how much it affects the decisions one makes the next day, but I know for sure it affects the mind-set of the dreamer the next day.
Yeah, for me dreams affect only the morning and the moment I wake up. If I had a nightmare I wake up frightened and sweaty, but I use nightmares as an RC to get lucid. If I have a nightmare I think “It’s a nightmare so I must be dreaming!”. I guess that’s why I didn’t have any nightmares for years :o !
So as I was saying, for me derams effect just the morning. I usually have good and happy mornings as I mostly have normal dreams. But then after an hour or so after I woke up it just fades away and I don’t think about that anymore. Dreams don’t affect me as much as weather does. For some, dreams are similar to weather, as if it’s raining they feel tired and let down the same as if they had had a nightmare.
But still, a profound dream could affect a whole day. As an example: If in the morning when I wake up and it’s sunny, I feel good and relaxed for a whole day. The same thing applies in dreams… but I guess these things variate form person to person.
