The only lucid dream I had (before I even knew about them) was when I was dreaming I was drowning but then I realized I could breath under water. It lasted about 4 sec. 
My first lucid dream came from a nightmare, too. 
Btw, breathing under water is a classic dreamsign! Good luck

First lucid dream? Was with friends and I realized I was dreaming… so i told all of them i was dreaming… and it started to feel really real. In all my lucid dreams though, I can actually feel my real life body on my bed, not moving… I think that we are conscious in both, dream world and real world, while we are in LDs
that happened to me before i knew about lucid dreaming… i still didn’t know it was a dream though, just thought it was weird i could breathe underwater

Thats really funny because thats similar to my first ever lucid dream that I had when I was really young.
I realised I could breath under water and kept doing it (i was at a beach)… it was so much fun,
