Just a few minutes ago I was certain that I had achieved my first WILD success. Little did I know that I hadn’t actually been awake before trying it. I was actually dreaming about going to bed normally, and a split second later I saw my entire scenery change and I slipped into my dream world’s dream world. This tipped me off right away that I was in a dream, since there was not only a very odd occurrence (entire scenery changing in less than a second) but my dream self even had the expectation of falling into a dream.
However my lucid-dream-within-a-normal-dream did not last long, as it was also followed by a false awakening about 2 minutes later. But I did, in my brief period of lucidity, manage to test out some advice I learned from this forum. During my last lucid dream, I had tried to make a change in my environment by closing my dream eyes and opening them up again, which caused me to wake up. Somebody told me to be wary of closing my eyes in a dream, so this time when I found myself in a store without a shopkeeper, trying to materialize a shopkeeper behind the counter, I tried something different. I turned my head to the right, so I couldn’t see where he would be, and made myself believe with every inch of my dream body that there was a helpful elderly man with glasses where I had seen nothingness just seconds before. And when I looked up, who do I see staring me in the face but that very same elderly man I had imagined! This was followed by my false awakening. I wasn’t able to do much in the dream but I was able to test out one lucid technique, and that’s better than nothing.
