Hey guys, just wanted to share a weird thing that happened to me a couple of days ago when I was trying to fall asleep. I was just thinking about something(don’t remember) and all of the sudden it felt like my brain reset. You know when there is a disturbance on the tv like when you don’t see the channel you only see the war of ants . I got like a small electric shock and I thought to myself, “Cool I wonder if I can do it again” and then I thought about Bruce Lee fighting and all of the sudden he hit me and I felt the same feeling again. Just wanted to see what you guys think about it. Peace!
Could have been a wild.
It wasn’t. I’ve had WILDs before and none of them were like this… besides I wasn’t asleep.
Perhaps your mind was just wandering and you experienced some sort of hypnagogic hallucination?
You know this reminds me of a lucid dreaming machine that was created long before modern technology that was mentioned in SL’s Lucid Dreaming. It was a watch and it gave the dreamer a certain electrical prodding based on their pulse rate.
The problem with it was the pulse rate isn’t a reliable predictor of REM sleep.
Well now that we have circuit board technology and accurate REM sleep detection, that electrical prodding would be a nice addition to the lights of a mask…
Dang the things that pop up during sleep transfer…
Reyth
odd. simply odd. It might just be a hypnagogic hallucination though.
I thought so too(HI) but I’ve experienced many HIs and none of them were like this. A mystery unsolved
I think it is what people call a pre sleep jolt, which is when you are on edge of sleep and you just snap awake in a split second. I have had something similar happen to me on rare occasions.
Well that happens to me every night
Cool That sounds like a reasonable explanation! Thanks for all the replies! peace!
n0th1n, did you make it happen, or did it happen spontaniously?
Well at first it happened spontaniously, and then I made it happened!
I have experienced something similar quite recently actually. I was on the edge of falling asleep. Then I got this “electric shock” in the front of my head, right above the eyes. It felt like a bouncing ball was bouncing really really fast in a very small space, you know? Like a sound from an Aphex Twin-tune - just “brrrrrr!”. And i really heard the sound to!
