Okay so i had a dream in which I did REALity checks. BUT they did not work!
i tried put my fingers through my hands and then through a mirror or wall but they did not go through! SO i thought i was not dreaming !
why did this happen? did it ever happen to You Guys? 
It may have had something to do with what you were thinking at the time. When you did the RC’s were you expecting to be in a dream or expecting to be in reality? If you are expecting to be able to put your finger through your hand and in a dream then it should work. If you are expecting it to be reality and not be able to do it, then it probably won’t happen even if you are dreaming.
I have had an experience with this. I was in my bathroom and looking at myself in the mirror. Something felt very odd but I just couldn’t figure out what. I thought it might be a dream so I looked closely at myself in the mirror. I remembered that faces often look distorted in dreams, so I looked for anything different. My face was sort of blurry and looked weird, but I noticed I didn’t have my glasses on and I dismissed it as it just being my vision.
Maybe you should try doing RC’s that will let you know you are dreaming, even if you are expecting it to be reality, such as looking at a digital clock. That one always works for me.
that’s not good-- i mean it is sooo confusing and makes RC’s useless!!

Something that can help make any of them work is to always think you are dreaming whenever you do a RC, even if you are sure it is reality. This habit will probably start to happen in your dreams and they will have a higher chance of working.
I agree. My first ever RC failed too but i was so intent on having a lucid dream that I said to myself ’ I WILL GET THE FINGER TO STRETCH!’ and so I tried again and this time my finger DID stretch. When you do RC’s just really think about it rather than just trusting that because you cant stick your finger through your palm that your awake. you need to be able to seriously consider both options.
